I'm sorry to hear that Woz, thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

If you want to get together at some point while you're here, grab my cell number off my facebook and shoot me a text. I don't have too much going on this weekend.

Work was insane. Also i don't know why they're having a pediatric unit now because minors are only admitted like once every other week or so. It'll be a lonely place.

I think the whistle pops I used to get when I was little are discontinued. sadness. My father would just take me places when I was younger than ten or so, without any brothers, and I'd always get one of those and a maple sugar leaf to eat on the way to hike/visit an art museum/etc. Can probably still get maple sugar candy because it's always been really popular there, but no more whistle pops.

These things?

I used to love those!

Speaking of sentimental treats, yesterday I bought Verona cookies made by Pepperidge Farm because I was in the mood for them and they make me think of my great uncle Charlie who died when I was about 9 or so. He never had any kids, but he adored me and my brothers like we were his grandkids. He had low blood sugar (he had diabetes) so he always had Pepperidge Farm cookies, Peppermint Patties, and Vernor's ginger ale. Whenever I see any of those I always think of him. When you're so little you don't always realize how much people love and care about you...I miss him.

I'm fairly sure that whenever it rains, I always get sick. It's weird and really annoying.

A kid who went to my high school posted a picture of it on Facebook with the caption "so glad I got out of prison 3 years ago." Not even that funny, but I laughed. Too true. We always used to refer to it derogatorily as a gas station.

Yep, those are the ones. I looked them up on a few different sites, and none of them have them available for sale anymore. :( I'm glad someone knew what was being referred to.

Sentimental food is the best food.

Whistle Pops used to come in those little Christmas books, did they not? I know for sure that they had Lifesavers ones, but didn't they have Whistle Pops, too?

lol me too. I am pretty sure as well that all packages I receive from my mother throughout the rest of my/her life will contain beef jerky and a couple of those those spicy noodle bowls.

I was actually proactive in letting my mother know that I have a legitimate need for a new laptop and an external hard drive for Christmas this year (my laptop might have another 2-3 months left lol I'm never taking it out of this apartment again)... usually I don't need anything, so I never know what to ask for when October-ish rolls around and she wants to know.
