danny paille just never grew into his shoes. it was a necessary move. he was a second liner with third line talent and results. it was time for a move. he could become a 20-25 goal scorer in the right environment, but he is the odd man out in buffalo.

No but we have Jochen Hecht and Adam Mair still here. Solid players

in case you havnt been watching, and judging by your comment you havnt been, hecht is having a pretty good season. not point wise, but in his play, hes playing well. mair has always been what he is. a 4th line grinding type player. so, yeah, again, this is a fine move.

Paille is a better version of Jochen Hecht. He is also cheaper and younger than Hecht. He is more responsible in his own end as well.

I just read that this was the first trade between Buffalo and Boston ever, but I could have sworn we've traded with them before...Delmore or someone.

Bottom line says it:

Wow your dumber than I thought. Krejci has been up. He's a star in the making. Kobasew was just traded and Lucic is hurt. That's two roster spots.

:naughty:

Actually Boston called up more than just him they called up other top guys in the AHL like Brad Marchand and some other guy, so they really don't have 2 spots open. :shhh:

From TSN transactions page,

"Boston recalled forwards Brad Marchand and Vladimir Sobotka from Providence"

I really don't see this as an overly horrible thing considering how many third and fourth line caliber players we are plagued with. A trade was eminent when we re-signed Drew Stafford, I think we all knew that.

Peace out, Danny. Best of luck.

I still can't figure out why. Buffalo will probably have 2 picks coming in for a guy who obviously will not get playing time but that's your opinion.

I like the trade, it seems fair value for a player we had no room for and didn't seem likely to get to the next level anytime soon.

Sorta wish this wasn't intradivision, though, but you take it where you can get it I guess.

I honestly expected a trade after we signed Mike Grier. Needed to unload at least one forward.

I thought Stafford was going to be the odd man out and not re-signed, but yeah, once they reached a deal with him, there was no way a trade wasn't going to happen some time. And I'd rather have Stafford than Paille.

Plus with the way Kennedy is playing, there's nowhere that Paille fits into this team.

Any news on who we are calling up to replace Paille?
