Hopefully Vanek is ready to play tomorrow.

Even so, we have a roster opening with Shakira out of commission. Gerbe is banged up right now and they don't want to rush Ellis...maybe Weber? McCormick?

Im pleased with the move.. I was high on his potential at the beginning of last year, but he seemed to regress.. He's Boston's problem now..

I don't think anyone? He was a healthy scratch except when Vanek was injured, but it seems as though Vanek's going to be ready to go tomorrow night.

Making room for Kennedy seems to be the right move at this point. Of course it's waaaaaaaaaay too early to say that Kennedy is a success, or better than this or that player at this incredibly early point in his career IMO, but he does seem to bring a lot at this point. I can handle 3rd or 4th liner being shipped to keep Kennedy in the lineup for now, especially since if it doesn't pan out, they can just send Kennedy to Portland and plug in someone else. Honestly they could have dealt any 3rd or 4th liner except Grier and Gaustad and I'd have been fine with it. Just turns out it was Paille, probably because he does have some mad potential.

It leaves us with 22...we are allowed 23.

He worked hard most every night he was in the lineup. They really didn't give him an honest chance here with only 2 full seasons, but someone had to go soon. His production wasn't bad. They might be making way for Ennis in the future (maybe next year, think he's eligible).

Paille was gonna be an RFA anyways, better to get something for him now. Be happy management is thinking ahead, that's how I see it.

Paille was passed over by Staff and Mac, so that left him out of the shuffle at left wing. Kennedy's ability to play center and kill penalties coupled with Hecht's obscene contract left him the odd man out.

I think it'll be good for Danny and the staff. He's been keeping the seats warm quite often this season in the press box. This way, he'll get a shot at more ice time. As long as he doesn't come back to bite us in the ass, I'm totally cool with it, lol. :P A couple of picks for him, I'm ok with it. Especially since he wasn't seeing much ice time to begin with. So it's a gain for us I believe. But like everything, it'll take some time to see who won this trade. It gives us room up front now and takes away some of the log jam and makes room for Kennedy.

My main concern, is what will be done after the Devils game with Myers? Will they attempt to make some room for him? Or will we see him back in Jr.? If Darcy knows what is good for him, and if he doesn't want to increase the chances of having a billboard put up in the city asking for his head, he'll keep Myers in the lineup.

The Sabres traded the rights to free agent Peter McNabb to Boston for the rights to free agent Andre Savard in the late seventies; so someone didn't do their homework. :snooty:

The Sabres have traded underachieving left wing Daniel Paille to the Boston Bruins in exchange for two draft picks.

I hope he gets to play in Boston. He wasn't getting any chances here, so as a player, this is probably a good move for him. I wish him nothing but the best

That's like me with Bills football. I have an encyclopedic memory sometimes of things that happened in my lifetime.

For as smart as Chiarelli is, Darcy kinda sideswiped him with this deal. I know it's only a 3rd and conditional 4th, but still.
