Nothing to whine about. everyone knows were not in that locker room, we don't really know what goes on.



I will say i'm surprised that staff was picked an assistant. good to see, though. it's a sure sign he must really be maturing.

My homer wanted Vanek, but I find the team plays really solid when Pommer has worn the C. Nice selection, IMO.

I'm very happy with this decision. Obviously the team and coaches know more than we ever will, and Lindy determined that Pommers earned it. I think both he and Vanek will flourish under their new leadership roles.

Whatever. Yes, we're not in the locker room, I dont think "I know better than the players", and we have no idea what happens on the bench or behind closed doors.

That said, I hate this. Jason seems like a total pansy, and I have a hard time believing he actually speaks up regarding anything. I'm not a fan of this decision.

I won't lie, i thought Vanek should have got it....but I'm here and they're in the locker room. Now I hope he can start producing like we know he can.

Pominville plays in all situations unlike Vanek, Stafford, and Gaustad, and he's more mature than Roy.

There are a lot of good personalities in the lockerroom. Sabres were coming out on top regardless of who they picked.

Pominville has some positives. Before last year he'd never missed a game to injury. Probably bilingual, not that there are many (any?) native French speakers on the team. I think he was a captain in juniors.

That said, I wanted Vanek. No major thing though.

I really like this decision... I think Pominville will make a great captain, and if I recall correctly, the Sabres actually played really well when it was his turn as captain during the rotating captaincy stint.
