Steve Jobs does it, he's a bad person. CEO fo BP does it, it's considered 'just business'.

He denied paternity of his first daughter in a court of law.
That gets you a lifetime achievement dick award, not just being a shrewd businessman.

And other CEOs fire out kids with mistresses and pay them off to keep their mouth shut. I'm not saying it's right, I'm simply saying there's a double standard of outrage here.

- Jobs is a dick because he was a bad father.
- Jobs is a dick because he treats his employees kinda shitty. (While paying them very high salaries and top of the line benefits. Seriously. Even the retail store employees rarely complain about pay.)
- Jobs is a dick because Apple does production overseas.

Any of these can be applied to just about every CEO in the Fortune 500, but they're not getting article after article written about how much of a dick THEY are.

I'm not saying people should worship the guy. I'm just saying that there's plenty of CEOs who do just as dicky things and don't get as much flak as Jobs has. Honestly, I'd have no problem working for a CEO who has kind of a dick to me sometimes if he made me filthy rich working for him.

So the secret to wealth is forging a paternity test and showing it to some rich old bastard...hmm...

I'd be a dick too if I had billions of dollars.

I'm a dick without billions of dollars anyways.

It's only one article and it eventually needed to be said.
It wasn't a secret.
I'd also say he was far more the exception than the rule when it comes to being a dick. Yes other CEO's have kids, outsource etc., but most do it without being nasty on a personal level.

Dumbest anti-Apple theory yet : iPhone 4S is selling well because Jobs died.

you have to admit though, the iphone 4s is not a big jump over last years iphone 4. sure, it has somethings that were improved, but for all the rumours of what could have been, the iphone 4s let ALOT of people down. i suspect its selling well because... well.. its an apple.

The 3GS wasn't a major upgrade over the 3G, but it sold too.

And frankly, if you're judging a phone release based on what the rumor mill says, you're doing it wrong. The rumor mill is there to generate pageviews. There's a reason 95% of Apple rumors are wrong ; PEOPLE ARE MAKING THEM UP.

The quality of the phone isn't the point though. It's the fact that someone actually things people are shelling out money to buy a phone they wouldn't normally have purchased just because the ex-CEO passed away.

That's just retarded.

id have to agree. im just saying for the technology available that apple didnt incorporate into their new phone, they kinda dropped the ball. my opinion strictly.

Sprint is getting the iPhone for the first time and some people are ready for upgrades. Every other year is always minor improvements over the last version. I don't think they dropped the ball as anyone familiar with Apple should know that.

depends. in terms of what the phones can do, the iphone has been surpassed, and the gap is growing. the iphone, at this time, is as close to perfection a phone can get in terms of how it runs and such.it runs smoothly. but in terms of features, its been surpassed. depends on what you want.

if an android phone utilizes ALL the features the different android phones have, it could very well deliver a knock-out punch.

They sold 1 MILLION iPhone 4S units in the first 24 hours it was avaliable for preorder. 1 MILLION.

To put that in context, HTC sold less than 350,000 Thunderbolts IN TWO WEEKS.

Nobody is going to put a knockout punch to the iPhone anytime soon.

few things. those numbers are incredibly misleading. there is only one iphone. there are MANY androids out there. not that apples numbers are not impressive, but apples preorder encompassed 3 networks. the HTC thunderbolt was 1 android phone on one network.

if they market an android phone that has everything, it would be a powerhouse. as of now, the closest phone android has to perfect is the EVO. the droid bionic seems to be poised to be a power as well.

and lets be honest here. there are some jabronis that would buy a bag of feces as long as the bag had an apple logo on it. i know a bunch of those people, sadly.

I don't know what that has to do with what I said but all I was saying is that there's going to be interest in the iPhone regardless. This is the in between year where they just make minor improvements to the last generation. Apple does a great job of creating company loyalty as many people will buy an Apple product because it is an Apple product.

Honestly, my old Atrix boasted all these great features and that it was the most powerful phone in the world. I had it for 60 days and was so thankful that AT&T let me return it to have an iPhone again. If the phone works like shit (a la the Atrix), I don't really care what its capabilities are. That isn't to say that some people don't switch from the iPhone and never look back, I'm just saying that Apple does have great customer retention and will be attracting plenty of new people with this new release.

absolutely correct. but with all the things available on phones now that the iphone 4s wont be utilizing, it was a let down. thats what i thought when they rolled out the 4s.

The only problem with Android is since it goes with multiple developers and multiple platforms that won't happen. With Apple, they own the software and hardware to make them perfect.

If Android was solely on one brand of phone, I'd bet my ass it would take down the iPhone in their current incarnations, but Apple would also be pushing to take down a phone that capable too.

Really to me, none of the features on any phone really surpass any smart phone on the market today. Most new smartphones are going dual-core with 8mp cameras in them. The hardware is really close and the software, well iOS 5 is taking the best of both worlds and integrating them. A huge reason I'm happy is the notification bar, no more bothering me mid app for a text anymore.

It's all down to personal preference like 360 vs PS3 now. Both run great, both do the same things, and both will be the kings of phones for a long time.

I've been hearing for years about how 'the next' Android phone is going to kick the iPhone's ass. It's yet to happen.

I like Android. It's a great idea. It's been co-opted by handset manufacturers. Google talks about how it's so open...yet they didn't release the source for Honeycomb, and might not for Ice Cream Sandwich. You still have to root the phone to do anything really cool on it, no different than the iOS.

Most Android phones are running a codebase that's 6-8 MONTHS behind the current, because their phone carriers won't push the update. But Apple is the bad guy? Find a security vulnerability in Android. It's fixed in a week, but the fix doesn't make it to your phone for months. Find one in iOS. It's fixed in a week, and you have it the day it's available.

I've yet to see Android running on a phone that gave me a user experience even close to that of an iPhone. I've tried. I've yet to find anything in the Android Market that is better than anything in the App Store.

I'd be GLAD to switch to Android if it was better. I use Apple products, but I'm not married to them. However, they need to produce SOMETHING that makes it worthwhile to switch.

Ask Phil. He's been a staunch Android supporter for a long time. Even he is getting sick of dealing with the hassles.

I just can' wait until tomorrow when I can update my phone to iOS 5. I'm just excited to see what's changed.
