I didn't say that. Lose the chip on your shoulder.

Whatever the timing, it's hilarious that he was a supporter of a team for as long as he was, yet found it necessary to give up on them after a couple weeks of poor play.

IDK man, I admit that I lost interest in the Bills. I still considered them to be my team first and foremost, but I did start to follow the Colts because I really love Peyton Manning. I still followed the Bills avidly and they were always the team I told people were my team. I think that's a little different than completing jumping ship and saying that you just can't stand to be a Sabres fan anymore and now you're going to follow a team who's a real winner.

Even still I root for the Colts so long as they're not playing the Bills. I wouldn't exactly go as far to say that I'm a Colts fan, I suppose.

I've always been of the opinion that you can enjoy watching other teams play. I enjoy watching Blackhawks games, and I enjoy watching Green Bay Packers games.

However, enjoying watching those teams is a lot different from me loving MY teams. I love the Sabres, and I love the Bills.

I wondered why the stadium changes thread was so active, and active still. Icehound is a Lightning fan and a Slesh an Avalanche fan eh? Guess the old guard has been hit by natural disasters.

My thoughts on that echo those of most of you. How can someone change their loyalty like that? I don't know, but I think many fans just put way too much expectation into their sports teams' fates. Yes, we all love for our teams to win, but that doesn't make us winners in life. It sucks when your team loses but that certainly doesn't make you a loser in life. So why is it so important that your team win that you're willing to abandon an old friend like that?

I grew up a Toronto Blue Jays fan. Started going to games when I was 9, and I was listening to every game on the radio by the time I was 12. They were everything to me. I cried when they blew a 3-1 series lead against the Royals in 85'. Cried again in 87' when they fell apart the last week. Then 5 years later, it happened, they won it all. It was great, but was my life now suddenly better in some way? Did that make those painful years all "worth it"? I think that's a dumb way to look at it. The times they broke my heart were really just as important, if not more important when I look back on it. Things are what they are. If we're always looking for some payoff as sports fans that will justify our devotion, I think we lose a lot of the sheer fun of being a fan and just enjoying the moment.

Rant over.

i grew up a tigers and mariners fan. i still root for the mariners if they arnt playing detroit, even though the 1995 team is LONG gone. ive been through hell as a tigers fan. but im still here.

i grew up a michigan fan, and while ive seen some great things, 1997 seems so long ago. national champs, baby.

i became a sabres fan when i became a hockey fan in 1997. i followed the playoffs loosely, but i really jumped on the sabres wagon in 1998, when they lost to the caps. still here, obviously.

i like the pats because of brady. i like the lions because.. well, detroit. if the lions lose 11 straight, i wont care much. when it comes to football, college trumps all.

i dont see myself ever changing the teams i live and die with. until i myself die. its ok to jump on a bandwagon as long as you stay on.

I'd be happier if they didn't keep inviting Katebits to these things. The limo ride made her head swell up pretty damn good. Now she'll be insufferable.

Yeah that's why I don't follow her on Twitter and stopped reading her blog.
