LOL, does that mean Mr. Natural, XC, and I are snippy sometimes because we're jerks? Not mad, just asking.

Oh...so in that other post you meant "including" instead of "excluding"? Anyway, you're right. My friends and acquaintences know I'm sarcastic, but not in a 'cut you down' kinda way. I'm dry in delivery though, and that doesn't translate well on the internet.

nope, i meant excluding. i said most of us get snippy, except you

edit: just understood what may have confused you. notice my qualifier is before the action verb (get snippy), not after, so i indicated you do not get snippy, not that you don't get snippy for the same reason i include the rest of us for.

Pat - gotcha.

Bagboy - What's interesting to me is that I don't put a fraction of the emotion into a post that some people think I do...unless someone gets cranky with me, then I get cranky back. Squanto called me something like passive aggressive in another thread, over a sarcastic, dry joke. I don't think most others here would've responded the way he did, but even still, I know my style that works very well in person (with a grin or a wink) doesn't go over as well on these boards...ask Irony...lol.

Not sure I deserve the compliment. I try not to get personal with people, but I have no problem criticizing their ideas in ways that aren't the most constructive. I can be a pretty cold-hearted, sarcastic jerk without much effort.

BTW, this may come as a shocker, but I'm not a Republican, so I won't weigh in on the race.

I like Cain, but he's a foreign policy novice (but really, how much foreign policy experience do Governors, or half-term Senators, have?). His tax plan has its positives and negatives. Romney is a slimy politician, through and through. Perry's stance on imigration bothers me, and he's imploded since his early prominence.

No great options. But I still like any of them over Obama. If that's who the Democrats stick with (hardly likely we'll get a Democrat challenger) then I see my vote going to the (R) on the ballot.

What's your argument against Ron Paul? (curiosity, not poking with a pointy stick)

I like a lot of what Ron Paul says. I'm intrigued by his recently released budget plan (haven't read up on it, yet). But I don't like his isolationist tendencies. I can see where he's coming from, I just think it's naive.

You don't think that a bit of an isolationist point of view (putting your star player first, as Kat Williams puts it) is important?

Because regardless of how we vote, the Republican "party" picks him.

If you vote for Ron Paul, how much of your support is a genuine desire to see him win versus a type of protest vote? In other words would you still support Paul if you actually thought he could win the GOP primary?

Back in the 1980s I voted for Jesse Jackson - twice. However, it was mostly a protest about the direction in which the Democratic Party was heading. If I honestly thought the Democrats had a chance of winning in '84 or '88 (they fielded Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis those years) I might have rethought my vote. I don't know.
