Heh, skyline - nice job. I've never replaced a clutch in a sentra, I know in my 240 it wasn't bad at all, so good luck with that.

As far as grass & ponds and such in the south...depending on where you live, you have one of the biggest ponds in the world available to you year round (atlantic ocean), but I do see a lot of people with them in their yards as well. There isn't a lot of rain for LONG periods of time (think, like, months sometimes) so the ponds only get replenished when you turn your spigot on...

My dad has replaced clutches in jeeps, but those are RWD and not FWD, plus with more room. My neighbor was a mechanic so if I have any questions I can ask him.

The Smokey Mountains. It's beautiful. If you're excited about the outdoors, you're gonna have a blast.

Holy shit that is low.

Don't get me wrong, I hate Downie and the way he plays the game with every ounce of my being, but ripping on someone's disability just isn't cool.

The only thing that confuses me about that video is how did she understand what the woman was saying if she's never heard someone speak before?

Lip reading. But when the lady said 'can you hear me', she had her eyes covered. Maybe she could hear as a child before she became deaf? It's an interesting question.

What a trip it would be to hear for the first time! Car horns honking, dogs barking, thunder, Tom Waits' voice! Every new sound would be like losing a kind of virginity. I probably wouldn't sleep for a week.

Yeah, I guess lip reading...it just seems like that can only get you so far though. I'm not questioning the legitmacy of the video, but it's definitely something that intrigues me.

It's very cool to know that she's hearing the world for the first time though, I couldn't even imagine. The things we take for granted...

"Deaf" doesn't necessarily mean a complete lack of hearing.
My brother for example is about 85% deaf, but with his hearing aids (which output somewhere around 120 decibles) he can hold normal conversations, and even speak on the phone (ie not lip reading).

She's probably worn very powerful hearing aids her entire life before the cochlear implants.
