Now that I spend most days at home, I shower much less frequently. Baseball hats have become almost everyday-attire for me. Maybe because of that or maybe because I spend so much time on the computer I have been splurging on a number of hats on ebay.

My wife thinks it's absolutely ridiculous that I should want any more baseball hats when I have as many as I do already. I have no plans on buying more, but who knows when the urge to splurge will strike again.

There are a lot of functional sports fanatics here. How many different baseball hats do you all think it's OK for me to own and wear before I become material for a TLC show about hording? Or, more specifically, do you think there's a number where beyond that I'm just feeding my compulsive materialism?

In a way I'd say I'm a collector, but I wear all my hats. I'm not speculating or investing in hats in any way, but I do enjoy owning them.

Funny...the one collection I have is baseball hats.
My Father used to collect them too and has since given me his collection.
I only actually wear about 5 or 6 of them at any one time, but if I had to guess I'd say I have several hundred. (Is that too many?)

More than I can put on display anymore. They're all in boxes and bags in a closet.
Yet invariably, when I make a trip to pretty much anywhere, if they're selling a souvenir hat, I'm buying it.

I should actually pull them out and take pictures...

EDIT: I should point out, most of my hats aren't even sports related...just random hats from places I've visited.

Is several hundred too many? Yes. I'm not talking anywhere near that number. And I'm not really the type to buy a Portland Brew Fest hat or whatever just because I go to it. I want my hats in active rotation, though that might mean being worn only a couple times a year or something. You're on a completely different level there that my wife would never accept Cross.

Yeah, that's why mine are stashed in a closet...I still may take a picture, I haven't seen them in a long time.

You can never have too many hats. I have a a ton of hats ranging from Buffalo Sabres to Xavier Muskateers. I probably have close to 200 or so hats that I have accumulated over my 21 years.

i have about 15 baseball hats i wear a lot.

Man, I want this one. I've come to realize I love the Expos logo, just not in the traditional red/white/blue pattern. I have a black one, and a blue Montreal skyline one, but it's not enough. Help me.

i usually get one hat a year, an official 59/50 cap of a team. this year, i rocked my mudhens hat. next year, i think i may get a seattle mariners cap. or a seattle pilots hat.
