our defense:

Gragnani: Bad defensive plays, not contributing offensively
Sekera: Great puck mover, but defense sucks
Myers: WHAT THE FUCK
Ehrhoff: I like him.

The only bad thing about this all is Sekera and Myers were paid alot of money based on potential rather than going out and improving night in and night out and earning that kind of contract. Darcy throwing money around like crazy might come back to haunt this club in the long run. Right now Ville Leino looks like a bust. This team needs a dynamic center not one that is going to hold onto the puck way too long and then cough it up. Yes it takes time to fit in with another team but geez your being paid big money compared to what many others teams would have given him. I'm not giving up on him but they need him to step up and earn that pay. But then again maybe Philly and Detroit seen something that Darcy didn't.

He's been pretty awful all year around, but he's not all to blame. Lindy's got him playing more of an"offensive" role and has him jumping into the pinch way to much. So IMO Lindy should just let Myers play his game. Hopefully he can return to the way he was playing last years playoffs. If we get that Myers we've got one of the best all around d-men in the league.

I think the problem was that Myers didn't know what kind of game to play, I don't think it has anything to do with Lindy. Lindy surely wants Myers to play HIS game without hesitations, that's how he was good. But somehow Myers doesn't know what the fuck to do and he overthinks every decisions.

Weber was great tonight. Was he out there for all of the penalty kill in OT? Seemed like he spent at least a minute thirty of it out there.

I'm just going to go fucking bonkers if ruff pulls weber out for the next few games, sit that shittastic giraffe until he's ready, then pull out gragnani or sekera, both of whom were utter embarresments in boston.

so, i watched the game at the bar, and couldnt hear the commentary, but they showed myers at the morning skate, he took a shot, fell over, and left the ice. im under the impression that him sitting tonight was not because of his play, but rather an injury. anything on this?

So... at what point does Myers get back into the lineup? Does Ruff play him on Wednesday? If so, who does he sit?

It better not fucking be Weber.

I also didnt quite catch the sound during that segment, saw him falling and thought perhaps he WAS injured in some way...but then the announcers announced about a zillion times that this was the first healthy scratch of his career. Well, when they werent talking about Milan Lucic.

I was happier with Sekera last game. Gragnani played OK, but Myers is always the better choice once he get out of his slump. I hope Lindy's smart enough to Bench Gragnani over Myers right now.

btw, Weber is a -3 in 2 games. Sekera and Gragnani are +5. I know the +/- doesn't tell the truth but I thought it's interesting.
Ehrhoff is a -4, Myers a -3.

In my opinion benching Myers was the right move. The problem is that we have 3 d-man that should be benched but a rotating d-squad can't be the solution.

Myers should continue to sit because for the better part of this year he has been a liability on the ice, and right now, they're a better team if he's not in the lineup. When that changes or when another D-man goes down, then put him back in. He needs to prove he belongs back in the lineup. As a 3rd year player who is regressing in almost every area, he doesn't deserve a pass.
