I can't really blame Lindy, his system works if the guys execute it. The players keep making mistakes they shouldn't even make without a coach.
I don't buy the argument that the players have stopped responding to his coaching. Right now our best players are the ones that are here the longest (Vanek, Pominville, Roy etc...). The new guys like Ehrhoff, Leino, Boyes (he's playing better recently), Gragnani are screwing up.
Ehrhoff Leino and Boyes aren't screwing up. They're playing great. Sekera, Grags, Myers. THEY'RE screwing up. Our D is awful; our offense is fine. It's opposite of last year.
Ehrhoff, Leino and Boyes aren't playing great. They're playing okay at best, barely noticeable.
Ehrhoff: Almost every night I see him break up a play with a diving poke check. The guy's playing nice D and has I think 7 points.
Boyes: Has 7 points, not bad, and he's been playing really well lately.
Leino: Only one I mentioned not playing very well, but he's been taking a grinder role and is damn good at it.
To blame this team's troubles on Leino, Ehrhoff, and Boyes, is not fair. They're at least trying every night and they're not playing bad.
Ehrhoff is -4 and had a ton of horrible turnovers. He is supposed to play a big role on our D but isn't yet.
Boyes has played well lately but I expect more than 7 points in 18 games.
Leino is by far the biggest disappointment. No matter what line he is on, the line isn't producing any offense. He is playing solid denfensively but he isn't a good grinder because he isn't built for it (Maybe we have different opinions what a grinder is)
Gragnani and Sekera had terrible games but their inconsistency was expected. In the first 10 games Sekera was one of our better d-men and Sekera and Gragnani are +5 and +6.
