A young hockey player complaining about a penalty that probably should have been called? Why I never!

He's 24. He's still young, and the amazing part is that he'll probably still improve, both in attitude and in talent. Holy crap.

he has been in the league long enough to know not to be a total baby cry. The league constantly flaunts him, in turn he thinks he should be praised on the ice, as well.

I think he should be suspended for the elbowing incident.

are you sure? sounds like a player that just wants to win. buffalo could use players with that mentality.

from all accounts, crosby is a pretty swell guy. humble and shy's away from being the centre of attention when he can avoid it. i like him. hell of a player.

All kidding aside, Crosby isn't very humble or attention shy at all. Asking the fans to stop throwing hats for OV's hattrick, then making a big deal out of it in an interview was a dick move. Hopping in and beating the piss out of a guy who was already tied down was a dick move. His constant yelling at the refs, expecting to get some sort of special attention is a dick move. He has shown he's a dick.

for real? what happens on the ice, happens on the ice. yelling at a ref? didnt patrick roy once boarderline tackle a ref? remember the time he threw his stick about 100 feet against the glass? he yelled at the ref? who doesnt? who cares?

also, this is a guy who has turned down the opportunity to be the NHL /NHL2K series video series cover athlete, because he wants other players to have the showcase. not just once. every. year.

If he was as humble as you say, he wouldn't bitch and whine as much as he does. As for the cover of a video game, it's the cover of a video game. Big deal.

Also, just because Patrick Roy was a borderline maniac doesn't mean Crosby can be justified.

you miss my point. players bitch to refs every single second of every single game. why is crosby being crucified for it? and being a video game cover athlete is a coveted thing.

I don't know about you, but I've never heard a player ask the refs to ask the fans to stop throwing hats... Especially at a rival arena. I can also give you a video of Crosby hopping in and cheaply hitting someone already tied down.

Crosby is nowhere near humble.

Great player, big asshole.

I think you give Crosby special treatment in the ass hole department as if TONS of players dont do the same shit. Not saying Crosby is a saint in any way but I think your hate is a little influenced by his huge coverage and the fact that the refs will back him.

I hate anyone who does what I just stated. Which is not many players.

Other than being an asshole, he whines way too much, and expects to get babied because he's the face of the NHL.

I don't think Crosby is much of a whiner anymore. It was definitely true when he first started, but you can't tell me he hasn't matured over the course of the six years he has been in the league.

I like to make fun of him as much as the next guy, but he's one hell of a player and I'm glad he's back. The NHL gets basically ZERO coverage on a national level, but he really draws the attention in. It's not his fault the NHL made him the poster boy of the league and he gets idolized often. I agree the coverage can get ridiculous, but it isn't as if Crosby sucks. Sure, he has some faults but every other player does, too.

The constant crusade against Crosby is just flat out annoying. I would kill to have someone like him on the team. Not just for his talent, but he's hardworking and brings his all to every game. He has really developed into a great player and leader for Pittsburgh.

Exactly. The biggest reason why I "hate" the thought of Crosby is just because of the cramming down your throat the NHL does with him. Other than that he's an amazing player. I was amazing that, although being off for almost a year, has started exactly where he left off. Barely looks like he skipped a beat...
