Happy holidays folks. This is your area to post videos or tell of your favorite plays made by Sabres who jersey numbers correspond to the day of the month. Our holiday fandom treats to one another.

Day#1

Jhonas Enroth

Btw only goalies have worn #1 for Buffalo.

Also, what happened to clearing bodies out after a shot nabbed by our goalie? That hit at the end should occur a dozen times a game, minimum.

Commenting on that - great hit by McCormick on that play, too.

I wish they would have widened the replay so we could get a better look at the double kill. Both players were down for awhile after that. So much testicular fortitude was displayed in that video.

Unfortunately, apparently, that was all the testicular fortitude that was allotted to this team for this season.

even if that went in i dont think it would have counted with his mask being off and all.

I am not sure what the policy is if the player takes off his lid willingly and continues the play on his own accord. If the puck went in I think the boys in Toronto would have had to pull up some fine print on the ruling. Even the ruling I think would allow for a case by case review.

I'm pretty sure his strap came loose or something

Day #2

Jim Watson: 1970-72

Watson played on the Buffalo Sabres for two seasons and has a place in Sabres history as he scored the first regular season goal in Sabres history. Claimed in the expansion draft from the Detroit Red Wings, Watson's two seasons composed of 144 games. During those 144 games, Watson had a total of four goals and 19 points and while he didn't light the lamp, he definitely worked the penalty box door with a total of 248 penalty minutes. That averages out to 1.72 penalty minutes/game or almost a minor a night.

A major stat of note is Watson was sixth in the league in 1970-71, the Sabres inaugural season, in goals against with 122 and his plus/minus statistic was -28. It was the Sabres inaugural season so some defensive liability is afforded but the season after it went to a career worst -33 and Watson was never a plus player during the time the statistic was measured.

I thought the first goal thing was pretty cool. All those in Buffalo could probably trivia challenge themselves to a free beer with that fun fact. My advent calendar gift to you is then a potential free beer.

The play only gets blown dead if there isn't an immediate scoring chance. If there is an immediate scoring chance the play continues.

It would have counted.

and NYI, that was last year, not this year.
