my friend has a 4.1" screen which i hate, because it is simply to big for me, but. if people like it, then they should be able to have it.

i LOVE my 3.2", but that is my choice.

i dont see why apple cant offer the iPhone in multiple sizes, like it does with their computers.

Yeah the next iPhone will have a 4" screen, which I'm looking forward to. Their OS doesn't really need a ton of real estate, but it's great for web browsing.

I was messing around at work on a few screen sizes in the 4 to 4.3 inch size. To me 4.3 is too big but if I needed I could manage it, and 4 inch would be perfect.

4.7 I couldn't handle on a phone since I like using one hand on my phone a lot.

I'm all for advancement in technology, but half the crap they are implementing won't get used to it's full potential. And all it will do is drive up the price on these items until they find a cheaper way to make it.

Smartphones are at a high point in their development and will continue to advance. I personally don't see quad core cell phones needed by anyone because I would bet nothing on a cell phone would need that. A 5 inch screen to me is just way too big, if I wanna see graphics I'm going to a TV where it's noticeable.

Tell me where these things are NEEDED in phones? Not just wanted, NEEDED. Show me something on a phone that is going to require any of this.

I'm going to break down this metaphor completely then.

You're saying a smart phone of today would be comparable to a Model T in the car world of then. Which would be completely wrong. A Model T would be much more comparable to a simple flip phone of 2002 well before the smartphone era since it was the first mass produced car in simple terms. Still better than the very first cars but nothing like a smartphone or new car. When you get into cars today this would fit the smartphone to other phones much better in your metaphor. You take a car of now, which I'm fine with, but the new generations add in just a tiny bit better computer or different flash of the ECU for 5hp but pretty much the same on everything else, is it needed to make it run better. No it's not.

For your metaphor to work the proper way, you would be best to change it to a more modern car as they fit the bill on the smartphone debate than and in the progression of technological advances.

They're trying to make mobile devices more powerful so that you don't need to carry around a phone, a laptop, and a computer. They're trying to find the middle ground, and some people are willing to sacrifice a 4" screen for a 5" screen to be able to leave their laptop or tablet at home.

A lot of people (myself included) do a LOT of work and email on the road. I'm able to take control of my work computer from my phone and actually DO things, productive things, that if I weren't able to, production or development would actually slow down or stop until I gained access to a computer.

The need is there, just not for you.

To draw another comparison, it's like guys saying that tampons don't need more comfortable applicators (or some shit like that), because the cardboard ones work fine. I'm going to make the assumption that's probably not the case.
