Roy at this point can roll for all I care. I say wait a month or so and see if his play sees more point production. He was out for awhile so his scoring touch may need some time. He was never a prototypical #1 center. Only reason we put him in that department is due to his points production, if that's not there then fuck it. He is a liability on defense, does not forecheck, thinks he can skate through anyone, and does not display one bit of heart. I really only tolerated him because he made up for his mistakes with points of his own.

Ship Stafford before his flaws become to glaringly obvious. Some idiot GM may still just look at last years production and offer up a trade.

Only plus is his young age and the fact that he can still change his evil ways.

Most of the games of this season. He hasn't taken dumb penalties, he's been very good defensively, and smooth with the puck, for the most part. He's been our most reliable, steady defenseman this season.

Honestly if Roy sees more points come his way trade him and trade him fast.

Like I've said this whole time "Roy isn't a #1 center".

Plus Minus ain't the whole story, bro.

If every Sabre had his +/- rating, the Sabres would be undefeated.

Robyn Regher is a -6 I believe. Is he awful this year?

Like I've said this whole time "Roy isn't a #1 center".

IMO you guys are crazy. I will agree that Roy may not meet the strict definition of a #1 center, whatever that may be. However, he is the best center we have so he's our #1 center, and you guys can't wait to get rid of him. He's been our most consistent point producer over the last 4 or 5 years. He produces on the PP. He's good on the PK. He generally leads the forwards in ice time. All this for $4M a year, and it's not good enough for you?

This team is not without issues right now, but Roy ain't one of them.

He may not be one of the glaring problems but he isnt doing his part, Roy should be way ahead points wise of where he is now. My point is, last season we lost Roy and got nothing in return and we actually did BETTER so why not trade him and get something in return.

I'd be ok with that. Do it now while he still has value

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

I don't go on on that too much. Just because he's on the ice for a goal doesn't mean he's playing well. He has made some horrendous plays that have given the other team some crazy good chances, at times, even goals. He's just damn lucky that most of the time he's fucked up the other team hasn't been able to take advantage of it. I would rather him have a -6 and not give up the puck for a goal than him be +11 and cough it up regularly giving the other team great chances.

just for a little reference, let us look at the Leafs @ Caps game

The caps won 4-2, but NONE of their players were minuses. The leafs lost, but all their players were either pluses or minuses

(aka im agreeing with you SiDC, if that wasnt clear)

He's a poor defenseman, so he's on the ice against the other team's less talented players. I think that comes into play.

Good point. He also plays the PP cause that's what he and Ehrhoff are supposed to do, and 4 SHG isn't enough to make his +/- suck.

The shorthanded goals-against wouldn't hurt his plus/minus, since only even strength goals are counted.

To be clear, I DON'T think he's good. And I agree with you that plus/minus doesn't tell the whole story, but it's a stat I usually put a lot of weight on for a defenseman. This is an unusual situation.

Shorties count against your +/-.
