I think what she's saying is that our fanbase is no more worse than any other team's fanbase. There are crazy, irrational fans for every team.

I feel like the overreacting/insanity has infected most of the fan base though. Not you guys, we are (mostly) sane here. At least in regards to Sabres hockey. But it seems like most of those that venture to the games are crabbier, more bitter, and spend more time booing than cheering. I can remember a few years ago, everyone blindly cheered, standings be damned. I actually have an article for buffalowins.com about this but I'll sum it up here. I've had fellow fans challenge me for trying to cheer on Miller after giving up a goal. It seems these fans have turned on the team, and specifically certain players. Every goal that goes by Miller is HIS fault. Every goal that goes by Enroth is, (lets pick a random guy) Sekera's fault. Or Vanek's vault. Or Pominville's fault. It seems like the fans are a lot more contentious with one another.
I know, 40 years, no cup, lots of money, new locker room, blah blah blah.
It just seems like the fans have turned into brats. (Obviously not ALL of them, I know there's rational fans out there. You guys are included in the rational group). If the team is down by 1 with 5 minutes left, half the arena is gone because they assume the game lost. I imagine that when Stafford scored to tie it up against Philly, he was rather disappointed to see the lower bowl half empty. I know the players have a lot to work on themselves, but the fans have a lot to work on too. I miss the uninhibited passion, the unconditional support. They've been replaced with cynicism and skepticism.
