Parents are so incredibly stupid and overprotective these days. I'm glad that I don't work at a school or daycare and have to constantly deal with them.

every year my moms union has a christmas party for children with cancer, and im helping out with it today.. I feel like im gonna see a kid with no hair or something, and im just gonna lose it and cry.

my niece was born with a mole that could have turned cancerous on her face, and had it removed at 2-3 years old, and seeing other children in pain like that just fucking is horrible.

When I worked at Marshalls and I would ask people to donate to St Judes, I always felt awful when people would say no and I would see the cute little girl with no hair on the poster for it. :( I always wanted to be like, "HOW COUDL YOU TELL THAT FACE NO!?"

You know you're a Sabres fan when your friends try to hook you up with a random girl that has Sabres stickers and a license plate holder on their car. I would make the trip to Towson for that lol.

I don't feel bad not donating, because, well, I actually do donate, like every time I go. Sometimes I don't have it in my bank account or I don't have the cash, but often times I make it a point to get cash back just to donate.

I guess I'm saying that it's not really fair for you to look at someone like that because you don't know if they've already donated or not.

Well, of course I don't really know. Most people will say they've already donated. Obviously I don't pass any judgment on for real, it's just kind of disappointing when the giant poster would stare at me.

I've said no for donating myself.

I worked at a theater and we had donation buckets for about a month during the summer to collect donations for Make a Wish, I think. I understand some people don't have the money to donate, or have already donated, but I had a hard time understanding why people didn't at least put their change in. Like, there were plenty of times where I gave someone 25 or 50 cents back and asked if they would like to donate and they were just stingy and said no. I mean, c'mon. It's 50 cents. Odds are it's probably going to get lost in your purse/wallet never to be seen again. If you're willing/able to spend 20+ bucks at the theater, you sure as hell should be able and willing to donate 50 cents to a good cause.

At Wegman's they started asking people if they just wanted to round up their order to the nearest order to donate to charity. I think they probably got a lot more donations that way instead of asking for a whole dollar.

Probably. That's actually a pretty good idea. I know I like paying exact amounts, whether I'm using my debit card or cash. I'm just OCD like that.

Ugh, I swear, UB loves hiking up tuition mid-year. It's so stupid.

Yeah, I don't even know what it's for, and there doesn't appear to be an explanation for it. They're also increasing tuition for out-of-state students by 10% for both the fall semester and the spring. What I don't get is... the fall semester is pretty much fucking over. Why am I paying more money after having already paid my tuition for the semester... after the semester is already over? It's stupid.

I volunteer at Roswell and sometimes it just hits me and I see the kids and I'm just like, "This is so unfuckingfair." And it's really hard.

But as strange as it sounds, most of the time it's inspirational because these kids are so young and have already been through so much, but they just have a positive outlook on things and aren't spiteful or bitter about what they've been dealt with. They just deal with it. And it just puts a lot of things in perspective. I'll be having a rough week at school or work, and then I go there and I see what people deal with and everything else just seems so irrelevant.

Not sure where I was really trying to go with this... I guess I was trying to say that going to Roswell can be heartbreaking but mostly it's uplifting and inspirational in a way.

:? That's horrible. How can that be legal?

Is a college education not overpriced enough already? When I looked briefly at nursing schools in Indiana, the only state I could immediately acquire residency in that isn't New York, the cheapest I could find was about $12,000/yr (in state), impossible to do without loans. looking more and more like going to California, establishing residency while acquiring a CNA license and working as one, and going to a community college to become an RN (only cost $10-20 per credit hour in fees) is the only option that makes any sense. It's also the scariest, and if I didn't already have a friend out there that is willing to let me (and my roommate) stay with him for free for 4-6 months it wouldn't be possible whatsoever because I'd first need $8,000ish minimum saved up, to be safe. :?
