Zach is playing his power forward role perfectly. Great grinding. He should be a top 6 doing this. LR is wasting him in a checking role.

Not a horrible first period, but it's still sad to watch the Sabres play.

They lack identity. They have the players and the skills to play an offensive, transition game but as soon as they pass the red line, they don't know what the fuck to do because they can't score. So the D-man jump in, the offense fucks up somehow and they D gets caught. After that, the D thinks twice before rushing and they make bad decisions. Repeat that, and you've got a team that don't want the puck because they don't know what to do with it. Add to that, the offense, when they finally get a good chance, they all rush the net not so brilliantly, loose the puck, and it goes back in their zone... Well, that's the way I see this team right now, not a problem with the individuals, but with confidence. These players could win. Not that a change wouldn't be welcome.

And I agree, Kassian needs to stay. 54 and 72 needs to stay together too, with a big center.
