The more they keep losing the more I feel this season is a write off

This plus seeing all of the injuries pile up.

Is it to early to start talking about the off season and what, if any, changes come about????

If it makes them play better by writing them off this early then I say go for it. Seemed to work last season. I am willing to try anything at this point.

The issue is, if we do make a run late in the season, it may buy Darcy and Lindy another season. That would then put us in the same boat we've been in for going on six seasons then.

We keep discussing the symptoms of the teams problems. When we discuss the causes of the teams problems; some people get very upset.

This isn't "bandwagon" or 'loyalty" issues. It's cold hard facts. A new owner won't cover this up.

A coat of paint, and money in the hands of a fool doesn't change anything. Even the Yankees don't win without the right GM and Manager.

Don't even get me started on Erhoff to further illustrate the point. :x

LOL, I hear you loud and clear. I completely agree that if we do a second half comeback, like last year, we will have another year of mediocre from Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Plus a very boring free agency....

As posted in today's GDT by sabretoothpick, I agree that even with a comeback we will be completely destroyed by the Bruins, Pens, or Philly. This team is mentally and very physically weak. Those are all physically dominate teams that just run over the Sabres like a Mack truck.

The Roy and Staff pairing with Kaleta was not an accident or to put a bruiser with the two pussies. This was a call out by Ruff. Hecht is our #1 center. The guy is playing quality hockey right now. That being said as it was mentioned in yesterdays GDT Kassian with his level of play should be let to play with the top 6. This is not yesteryears rookies. These kids are more physically adapt enough to come up and start playing almost immediately then their predecessors.

Line 1: Vanek-Hecht-Kassian
Line 2: Gerbe-Roy-Pominville
Line 3: Leino-Adam-Boyes
Line 4: Ennis-Goose-Stafford

You don't separate Pominville from Vanek at all. I would put Kassian with Roy and Gerbe to give some strength in that line, and Ennis, you don't bury him on the 4th line. He is a top 6 forward when he is back.

Your line 2 is so physically weak it wouldn't create much. Gerbe is a bull, but the other two are not.

Vanek-Hecht-Pominville
Ennis-Roy-Kassian
Gerbe-Adam-Boyes
Leino-Goose-Stafford

Keep that fourth line until Leino and Stafford start to produce more.

Couldn't agree more. I just don't see this team motivated under Lindy. But I have to admit I haven't remembered when the last time a team had this many injuries to key players.

WGRZ interviewed Ted Black last night about the issues with the Sabres. He "claims" changes may be coming but when asked about Lindy.... Well I'll just quoted the story.
http://www.wgrz.com/news/article/148339/4/Ted-Black-Sabres-Season-at-Crossroads

Quote:
When asked if the front office is concerned about Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff, Black said "no."

As for the roster, Black said general manager Darcy Regier is always looking to ways to improve. "Anytime Darcy can make a trade to improve our team he's able to do it. We want to win the Stanley Cup. I think where we are at this point in the season, we need to make some hard decisions in the next few days and the weeks ahead to find out where we're going to go."

Mr. Black confuses the hell out of me. Last week he told us to be patient, and now it's changes are looming. Is he our new GM, because I thought it was DR job to fill rosters, and hire coaches? I know this guy is popular, but methinks he likes cameras and attention, because he's apparently mouthing thoughts for Darcy AND TP. I'm glad the issues are being addressed, but this guy and TP need to let Regier do his job, or replace him with someone who makes his OWN decisions and also ANSWERS for them. Everyone knows too many chiefs and not enough Indians is always a bad idea. His new title should be press secretary.

I really don't think that Ted Black would come out and say, "Yes, we're going to fire Lindy."

It should be interesting to see if changes are coming. I'm thinking Lindy and Darcy both need to go and start the slate clean. And then move a couple of deadweight players in Stafford, Roy and Grags.

If he's going to play press secretary, then he should learn to answer like the press secretary when asked if someone could possibly be nuked, "all options are on the table".

Sorry, I don't agree with that. I think they respect Lindy a little more than that.

I don't agree with it either, I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I do think that "no" is the wrong answer, too. I think he should just give a politically correct answer like, "we're going to do whatever it takes to improve the team", or something along those lines. Maybe even say he's going to let DR do his job, and he'll do his.

Exactly, now if they do ditch Lindy he looks like a liar or a complete ass. I think when he says No, he means no.
