I say do nothing. This season is finished and I don't give a shit what anyone says about it being just January. There is nothing that can be done RIGHT NOW to fix it and make this team a contender...NOTHING. I say let them fall into the abyss and then, come April, start blowing things up.

Nuke it. But seriously, 3 more weeks of this and I say nuke it as well.

I seriously don't see the Sabres winning 25 games, which they would need to possibly squeak into the playoffs. If they do then they would be spent for the playoffs. I'm done with this team for the rest of the season....$200 bucks down the tubes

Want to catch a Caps game later this season?

A grueling road trip against pretty good teams, and then a Feb schedule full of games against NYR, Bos, Phi, NJ, with the only "winnable" games against Wpg, and at home to NYI or Mon. March and April isn't any better either.

Hopefully they will drop like a rock to get a top five draft position, and will be so far out of contention that Regier has no choice but to sell off Hecht, Boyes (even though he's better than Stafford), maybe Gaustad too, and even trade Roy and a few d-men that other teams may want for a playoff run.

Use the mid-range draft picks from these trades and the high 1st rd pick to draft Galchenyuk for C and build for a another day. I'd say "better" day, but that would require a new coach/GM.

Good idea I'd also throw Miller in as a player that must be traded... Guy will be 32 starting next season and his stock can only go lower on a shittier team. Maybe not by deadline but sometime during draft day to maybe get another top 5 pick or someone who can help this team... I doubt anyone take Stafford unless of course you give the other team a reason to trade for him. Ennis can be used as incentive he's got good potential and teams know that so him coupled with Stafford would bring a nice return. I wouldn't mind trading Leopold this year at deadline lots of NHL teams looking for puck moving D-men... Sekera also fits the bill....

All in all I'm hoping for record losses we need a top pick plus hopefully all this losing can bring in a coaching change. And when I say coaching change I mean a complete overhaul no more Patrick or Adams. Everyone goes and bring in someone new...

Wow, Miller, for the 101'st time. I don't think ANYONE saw this coming.

umm ok ?

Honestly, im not too sure i want to get rid of Stafford yet.

I will personally buy Roy a one way ticket to Moscow, where he can got in the KHL. If stafford doesnt produce after Roy is gone, well, then he can go too.

I'm open for a team to take Roy for draft picks at this point.

Roy is still a serviceable player to the right team. He's on a great contract for the amount of production he gives, or gave in the past and has one year left on it. I'm sure if we dangle him out there and listen to offers, he can get a return of a decent player and a draft pick, if not at least 3 draft picks. No first rounders, but at least a 2nd or two of them and a 5th.

Or even a first if it's all they would offer up.

Stafford on the other hand is an unmovable piece at 4 million a year. Unless we accept our losses and buy him out, or waive the bastard. Whatever would be cheaper do it. Waive or buy-out.

You know, I can't lie...I wanted to re-sign Stafford too. BUT, not for 4 mil! I remember posting several times over the summer that I thought he was worth about 2.8 mil. He'd still be tanking for that price, but at least he'd be tradeable right now. For 4 years at 4 mil per I think the best Regier can get is a 4th rd pick. If Stafford picks up his stats by Feb 27 maybe he can fetch a 3rd.

I wish we could upgrade the center position while keeping Roy, but it seems like the rebuild would be further and Roy's contract will be up by then. May as well trade him but Sky, he won't get that much. I think Roy will get a 2nd rd pick and a prospect, maybe...MAYBE a late 1st rd pick from a Cup contender that needs a late boost. Not sure any current Cup contenders need a 2nd/3rd center like Roy though.

I wonder if anyone thinks Hecht is worth re-signing for a year at around 2.5 mil. If Roy gets traded we'll be down to Adam and Gaustad as real centers for next season. Even drafting Galchenyuk or someone better wouldn't make the position much stronger as a whole. Keeping Hecht at a lower cost (I can't imagine he'd get the same 3.5 mil offer from another team) might be necessary.

Hecht is playing solid. Always liked the guy. Hope he retires a Sabre.

Yea that is the main thing about our team, if we ship Roy, we need a center in return for him.
