I've thought about this a few times, but haven't made the post on here.

Our AHL affiliates CONSISTENTLY do well. Thinking about it logically, the players' progression puts the majority of players against the same group of people for their entire careers, subbing in and out superstars, of course. This says to me that our prospects are very good hockey players, or our AHL coach has a system that nobody can beat.

This crop of players then comes up to Buffalo and loses their ability to compete. Yeah, they're playing against people with more experience, but that should all even out in the wash.

It's the coach.

B&Y that's my point. Guys like Vanek and Roy are playing against the people they played against in the AHL yet aren't finding the success they did down there.

Specifically the past 5 years. Lindy's still living in dreamland, setting up systems and asking for players that would have worked in 2005-07, but don't work in today's game.

Have our rookies been consistently wonderful since Cunnyworth left us? I was under the impression that things fell off a bit after he left the organization. I seem to recall that Lindy & Randy worked very well together indeed. Lindy always gave Randy & Rochester great credit whenever talking to reporters about the AHL guys.

Portland & Rochester have been tops in the AHL for a while...

Yeah its getting to the point where Lindy needs to just leave. I always wonder what goes on inside of T-pegs head while all this stuff has been happening. It does not make sense....

Yeah, it's hard calling for Lindy's head. He's been the coach almost the entire time I've followed the Sabres seriously. But I think you're right, I'd just add that "there's no way it's just the players". The players deserve blame too. Some players still show up for the games and play for Lindy, but the majority just don't. I guess my point is that you can't just ship out the entire team except Vanek, Pominville, and Reghyr. It's far easier to replace the coach. Something needs to happen like last week.
