Yes, last year of his contract, but I doubt there will even be the option of another one year deal.

I doubt he's back with the Sabres, sure, but I figured that with or without the concussion. Unless you're talking about his chances of playing at all next year.

For the sake of his health, I hope that Hecht retires. :(

I love this quote from Ennis:

""Sitting out for six weeks like I had to when I was injured, I got to watch the game from another perspective. Sitting up there, I watched Gerbe and how he's always moving and always skating hard. Thats why he's so successful. He never stops his feet. I said to myself before last night's game that I was going to play just like Gerbe. I think he and I, and Staff, we played real well together because we love to skate and we are hard to defend when we are all moving"."

If you have three rushing players it is hard for two defensemen to cover. It was truely incredible to watch the speed of Gerbe and Ennis just dismantle defensive players line after line. These guys need to be paired up all the time.

BTW I am digging the quote on Gerbe. I think playing with Goose rubbed off on Gerbe. Kid is ferocious and drops booms, this despite his small stature.

It came from 6 weeks of pent up aggression and realizing you can be little and fuck shit up(Gerbe).
