These guys just aren't listening to Ruff. Time for a new coach. At the end of last season I was all for keeping him and letting Darcy walk. Now I'm reversing my opinion and saying that Ruff needs to be replaced with new blood but I can't complain with too much that Darcy did int he off season. The guys we got were pretty smart additions, they just haven't produced like they should have. I think the relationship between Ruff and his players has gotten to the point that they just tune him out. Even a great coach is useless if the team don't listen to him, or even resent him. Time for someone new to come in and look at the roster with fresh eyes and new approaches.

Ick. I hate it when letting Lindy go starts to make sense. :( Hush! you silly monkey!
Stafford needs to go though. If he thinks he doesn't have to listen to the coach, I'd get rid of his butt.

What do you think of moving Lindy up to the press box for a while? That way he's still the brains, but the bench coaches are the hammers.

And I still think that the players are duty-bound to listen to their coach respectfully & do things his way. Because they are supposed to be professionals. It pisses me off when people believe that they are too good to listen to their boss. It's a work ethic thing to me. I don't understand why Lindy DOESN'T bench Stafford for being an idiot. I really don't.

From my years of living in Germany I actually know this one. It's kind of like when someone gets in a rut or being bogged down in whatever you're doing. Basically they are so used to Lindy yelling at them that they are in the "Yeah yeah yeah" phase like how a teenager thinks of their parents. They need a kick in the ass but not the same kick in the ass. They have become numb to Lindy's message.

They need a kick in the ass. Send one of the players to Phoenix and they'll all be scared.

I can see McCormick getting all charged up by hearing Lindy giving it to the team to the point where he picks up Ennis or Gerbe and punts them into the 200's, just because. Then, the arena goes completely silent and he just lets out this scream and runs off down the tunnel to the locker-room, arms flailing everywhere.

Kind of goes hand & hand with the circus that has been this season...

You're loyal, but man, are even you this hard a nuthatch to crack? Of ciurse the players SHOULD listen to him. People SHOULD stop completely at every stop sign and use their turn signals too, but if you let them , they won't. That's what driving is like here, no one uses their turn signal because nothing happens to them if they don't. On the Sabres under Lindy Ruff right now, it appears nothing happens to players who don't bust their butts. That's not gonna change until someone forces the players out of their paterns.

Coaching is a huge part of what's wrong with this team. And even if it's just the players, guess what; Lindy has a lot of say as far as who stays and who goes.

This is just as much Lindy's team as it is Darcy's team in terms of the roster.

If Lindy is the "Brains" of this team then there's a huge problem. As you can see we are currently bottom 4 in the league so currently these "brains" are fried. Coaches have an expiry date and honestly Lindy's date has been past due for awhile now. Nobody listens to him. If no ones listening to him then why have him as a head coach or even in the organization?

Time for new blood in this franchise. A whole new coaching team is the only way to go here. Lindy's system sucks.

Ding ding! PSP wins! This is Lindy's team as much as it is Darcy's. They put the roster together hand-in-hand.

To go further with Nuthatch and Stu...

You can't point out Stafford on this one because I've seen several players, especially Vanek, with the same look on their face staring the other way during another Lindy tirade. I think they all really want to win, but I don't think they believe in Ruff's system. They're not just tuning him out because they're tired of the yelling, they don't believe his Xs and Os are going to beat the other team. Ruff over-coaches and it puts a TON of mental pressure on them, which in turn takes away their best instincts when they are thinking the whole damn time instead of skating and making plays the way they want to. This is why rookies and FAs come along and struggle. New coach...new team, still with a few spots to shore up though.

Likely amplified by the soreness of this loss, but listening to Lindy's presser, no wonder the players have tuned him out, never mind his line decisions.

Besides the money coming off the books this offseason, I think the biggest change that could have a bigger impact, would be behind the bench. I'm not just talking Lindy; I mean the whole coaching staff.

the way it seems to go is that once a new GM wants his own coach who wants his own staff. So if Lindy and/or Darcy leaves, there will probably be a cleaning of the house in Buffalo.

Its no secret that I've wanted Ruff gone for the last several years and i still do. the man isnt effective and really hasnt been THAT effective to warrant sticking around as long as he has. What hes done for the Sabres has been great and i wouldnt have a problem with him becoming Ass. GM or some other made up job they give old coaches within the Sabres organization. I just want his ass gone after this year.

Cunneyworth will be available...

Don't get me wrong I hope he pulls through. I believe he has what it takes to make this thing turn out some winners for a long time. I feel as though we may take him for granted a lot of the time. There are a lot of organizations that would shell out serious cash to get someone like Lindy behind the bench. The pressure for this team to succeed falls almost entirely on his shoulders at this point.

That being said I think we will gel fine and Ruff will batter teams with a reckless abandon on the blueline and grind them down with 4 solid lines that no team can compete with day in and day out for the duration of the season, and hopefully the post season.

Cheers mates.

Well I was mocked and ridiculed for my early season assessment. There are no excuses anymore. His ass is grass.
I am just upset that the last part did not come true. This really hurts. We got money to play with for once and we torched it for all of Buffalo to watch.
