I hate coming to threads 7 pages in. It was a good move, and I have nothing to add except a thank you to Paille for amusing me with all of his funny faces.

I think I'd be surprised to see that, but the fact that it's even a reasonable possibility tells me Darcy won this trade.

The Sabres traded the rights to free agent Peter McNabb to Boston for the rights to free agent Andre Savard in the late seventies; so someone didn't do their homework. :snooty:

Some other names to look at may be Steve Heinze, Bob Sweeney, and Joe Juneau. All ex-Bruins who I remember playing for us. Not sure how they were acquired though. If anyone feels like following this up feel free to, because I don't.

I was actually calling for Darcy to make this move. Great job IMO.

Heinze was traded to Buffalo from Columbus when he joined them for the 2000-01 season after the Bruins.. This is the time he ended up switching to 57 since the Bruins wouldn't let him and he wore it throughout the rest of his career.

ouch, do you suppose it's humiliating to a player to get moved for a 3rd and conditional 4th round pick?

Depends on the quality of the player...Paille should be flattered.

Paille looked good for boston. Flow was pretty nice. He also assisted on the game winning goal.

If he ends up panning out how he was suppossed to he should perfectly into Boston's system. Seems like a longshot though... he's what now.. like 25? 26ish?

Paille is what we thought he was...a decent two-way player who can average about 15 goals and 35 points. There's a place for him in the league, but he'll never be more than a marginal full time player. Not what you want from a 1st round pick, but we've done worse.

I always liked Joe Juneau even though he declined from his early years with Boston.
