Basically this morning Ruff said that Roy is his buddy, and that he's just fine. (paraphrasing) Think the actual terminology was "it's much like a Father/Son Relationship"

And that Vanek has no more rope taking "stupid" penalties, if he takes them he's essentially benched again.

Basically affirming that Roy is safe, and he's doing what Lindy wants him to do. Vanek is in his dog house, and that if he continues to take penalties, then he's going to continue to be benched. Even though Vanek has 2 more total PIMs than Roy.

Like I said in the other thread, we can only hope that this is the Sabres way of verbally raising Roy's trade value so that other teams want him. Talking down Vanek is probably they're way of saying he's not available.

That's in a perfect world. Unfortunately, we're fans of the Buffalo Sabres, who seem to live in La-la Land half the time with their own players.

Alright 20 games left with .... I dunno, we're gonna have to get a lot of wins against a lot of good teams.

Anaheim, Vancouver, San Jose, Pittsburgh, Winnipeg, The Rangers, Philly, the Bruins Twice....and all away games!!!!!!!!!

The next four games are at Anaheim, San Jose, Vancouver and Winnipeg. Ouch, man ouch.

Two games against Toronto, a game against the Caps, a game against Florida who sit right above us in the standings and a game against Tampa who sit just below. That's 10 points from teams we'll be playing for the 8th spot.

Is this really possible or am I just fooling myself. There's not a lot of gimmies left....

Miller kept us in the game against the Rangers. He could just make waves at this rate.

The rest of the team. Not so hot.

Agreed. At times when our best guys need to be the best on the ice, they really need to ramp up their play. Van/Pommers really need to pick up the slack. Nice to see secondary scoring #wherehasitbeenallseason?! but we really need our top guys potting some here.

Prust; who is not an imposing looking fellow, getting the better of Gaustad can't help our outlook.

For god's sake; why wasn't Kassian going after, and kicking someone's ass? He damn well could - and would.

I still view Lindy as a pussy, I guess... :|

I still believe they won't make the playoffs. If anything, with them winning will make Darcy content and won't do shit at the deadline.

I doubt Darcy's gonna do much or even anything at all. I'm hoping he gets something for Gaustad otherwise we have 2 choices. 1 - Loose him to free agency for nothing 2 - Gaustad returns which in most likelyhood will add another inflated contract to the sabres roster...

Fuck just looking at the standnings. I know we are within 4 pts now but FLA has 3 games in hand on us. It's gonna be hard but if Miller plays the way he has of late we will make it.

I'm going to disagree here. Not about him getting handled by Prust, but I think Gaustad's line has been our best line since we turned things around(at least the most dependable). I hate when Lindy overplays guys who can't score, but the other lines just ain't scoring, and these guys are keeping us in games, which allows Miller to win them for us. Kudos to RR for eating mad minutes, and Weber for really turning his game around, too.

just to clarify since Florida won tonight, they actually jumped back up into 3rd place so Winnipeg sits in 8th with 68 points and 64 GP. So at this moment in time, we're 6 points out with 2 games in hand. The only issue is that the fight for 8th is a SUPER tight race, so we just really got to get as many points as we can. Even if we can, it's still going to be a battle, but anything is possible.

I dunno about that one. They bring energy that's about it. Is it me or every fight Gaustad's been in this year has him going down? Ennis' line and the Pominville line are still our most consistant lines. Yes Gaustad does bring somewhat of a physical presence and good faceoff man but we got far too many holes and needs on our roster to just give him what he wants. Darcy should get rid of him. Like the guy has never in his whole NHL career got more than 36 points and not over 12 goals in one season. Guys on pace for one of his worst seasons (Points wise and goals wise).

but also dont forget, the leafs have 65 and the caps with 67, both with the same number of games as the sabres.

Chances are good that they won't make the playoffs and they won themselves out of a top five pick..... So they are destine to pick a prospect that needs development in Rochester for a few seasons. Oh and Darcy WILL DO NOTHING at the deadline

Nope.....Miss Cleo did :D

Well, Vogl just tweeted that upper management (including TP) is at the arena and that Gaustad is not at the team "Bowl-o-rama".... Hmm, interesting. He very well could be nursing his big ole noggin from the beating he took last night. I really hope they surprise me and do something, anything.

I don't get why you don't think they will. TSN reports we're interested in a few players, and that we're getting offers for Goose, Roy, and Stafford. We've been one of the teams I've been seeing so...

that's why I mentioned the fight for 8th was super tight.... But honestly, the leafs have been slumping lately, and the Caps have been kinda iffy. The Sabres just have to worry about themselves right now and win as many games as possible. No matter what, it's going to be tough, but all I'm saying is that it is possible if the Sabres can keep winning. Remember the last 20 games of last season? Look at what happened there. and THAT is why I won't stop believing until they're mathematically out.

i kind of see what a few others here see. I think they have just won themselves out of a top five pick and into the "We're on the right track" opinion from Pegula and Darcy. Kind of the worst thing they could have done.
