Well, at least we're back to losing faceoffs now

I'm no expert at all, but I don't like it. We were a soft team before and we got softer and smaller.

I am with you toothpick. They need to get bigger after getting rid of Gaustad but they go out and get an average size center whichthey already had.

Onething i hope they go out and get Parise and Suter in free agency.

Have you looked up Hodgson? He's a center. We needed centers. He scores. We need to score. He's average size, but, "average" isn't bad...EVERYONE can't be huge, or then huge would be the new average.

This is a good pickup.

My god this team just got smaller and softer. The next time they play Boston we may have to forfeit to avoid someone dying on the ice.

Gaustad and a 4 for a 1, Smart move.

Grags...throw in, who cares. Kassian....ouch. Hogson, not sold in the least. Don't get me started on German hockey players...hope that guy gets cut immediately.

Still think Reiger is the worst in the league.

Guys who actually need to leave but will be here come tomorrow: Miller, Stafford, Boyes and Hecht (though at least they both can go away at the end of the year), Gerbe, Leopold, Sekera, Weber (as playing soft is not him, but is the Sabres way)

Please god let McNabb and Adam immediately find a home on this team and let Foligno get here soon. Additionally oh hockey gods, let a real #1 center somehow get traded and end up here please please please

I agree with you on Boyes, Hecht, and Gerbe. I'm surprised you didn't add Roy...

According to some, we now have our #1 center!!!! McNabb and Foligno will not see much playing time in future seasons (unless we have a massive amount of injuries again). They are too tough for Lindy's system and no one can disagree with that. The Lucic fiasco is a prime example. The only reason why they tried to be tough after that was the huge backlash by the fans, media, and other NHL teams.

If they can flip enough picks to move up and grab Mikhail Grigorenko draft day, I might forgive them.

This trade might be one to regret for years.

They're saying that Vancouver gained because they can now match Lucic with Kassian. They never said that Kassian was better than Hodgson.

That basically make him better because it can make a difference in a playoff series. YOu can't just compare point production here. You'll find a guy with Hodgson's production a lot easier than a Kassian package.

Kassian was drafted 13th overall. If his type of player was so rare then why would he go 13th overall? Also, Vancouver thinks they have matched Lucic with Kassian. Does he really? No.

Dutchy just asked the panel if each team gained from the trade and they all agreed.

Uh, Lucic was selected 50th so draft position doesn't mean much

Im not sure what to think on this one... I really REALLY liked Kassian.... But we are really REALLY bad in the middle and honestly we are still a center or two short...

Roy
Hodgson
Ennis
Cody/Adam...

I like the youth and potential of Hodgson / Adam... and Ennis growing into the C position.... But that group still doesn't strike fear into anyone...

I know who hodgson is I watched him in junior and I know he is a center but buffalo still lacks a bonafide power forward. I know they needed centers but they still need more than Hodgson.

I see this as a another step in the right direction towards rebuilding/re-tooling. We need to score and we need a better center. Hodgson helps that. My blood pressure needed to see Grags leave and now he has. I liked Kassian but honestly haven't been that impressed with him all season. I think saying he'll be the next Lucic is way over selling the guy. We'll have to wait and see. I think this could go very well for Buffalo especially if we are active in the off season adding to our top 2 lines.

What did you expect? Did you expect us to trade everyone and build a Stanley Cup winning team on trade day? You can't just trade for anyone you want in the league.

Get real here, we got a 22 year old Center who is the best Canuck prospect that was stuck behind Sedin and Kesler. Two of our Centers are now under the age of 25. Ennis and Hodgson.

I was a fan of Kassian too, but all he really had so far was size, he might develop into a guy the NHL fears, but if you want talent you give up talent, it's way too early to see who won that trade.

Ok whats done is done. We get a much needed scoring center which is definitely needed but toss away some more toughness with the Goose and Kassian. Which, some will argue (I for one) was also needed. Since Boston will most likely be the team to beat for the next couple more seasons, I hope they learn to skate circles around them instead of letting the Boston freight train roll over them some more.

As it been said over and over again, TIME WILL TELL ALL

I just realized that we play against the Canucks next weekend.
We can only guess who will get destroyed by Kassian.

I wouldn't classify Kassian as an enforcer really. Yeah he would drop the gloves when necessary, but he was really good at puck possession down low using his big body. Andrew Peters he aint.

The anger from Nucks fans makes me happy. We got a good player in Hodgson.

well put XC. That's is one thing this team lacks especially playing against the trap

Well, we're worried about Boston and being tough... Enforcers are tough, and we have enough hitters.

Oh, and Andrew Peters wasn't an enforcer... He was TUURABLE

One thing I want to point out is, Hodgson was 4 in goals scored for the Nucks and 6th in points on their team. Considering he was 10th in time on ice for that team, he also has 5 PP goals, good for 4th on the Nucks. He also is very disciplined, only 8 PIMs in 63 games.

One big thing I say is he has 801 minutes of icetime, he has 33 points, Derek Roy has 1144 minutes this year and only has 35 points.
