Last night's game was Miller's best of the season IMO. But last night didn't come out of nowhere either though as Miller has really turned it on of late (maybe someone can check but I think they are like 9-3-1 in their last 14?). To me this is definitely the best he's looked since the first handful of games of the season, maybe longer.

Do you all think he's 100% again? I know that's impossible to answer for sure, but what are your opinions? I personally felt that his sub-par season was caused by lingering effects from his concussions. Because of that I thought it might be a very long time before saw him return to regular form, if he ever could. I'm glad to say I've been surprised by how well he's played lately, and that I hope my outlook was overly grim. Thoughts?

I agree he is back. It was clear while he was struggling that his mind was not in the game, he lost focus really easily, and was clearly not the same goaltender.

It looks like he's done some meditation, or yoga, or some shit to get himself centered again.

Too bad he wasnt like this all year, or we'd be sitting a lot higher in the standings than we are now.

I actually had gotten to the point where I wouldn't have been too upset if he was traded because he just couldn't keep his head in the game. He definitely looks like he is as strong as he was during his Vezina year.

This is what happens when you have two concussions in 8 months. It takes time to get complete mental focus back.

He seems to have that back now.

I'm just curious here, wasn't the injury from Lucic a neck injury and not a concussion? A neck injury would still screw him up but I'm just wondering.

Ironic isn't it? His great play may put The Sabres into the 8'th spot eventually. With things being so tight, I can't see him not playing the remaining games. With his playing so much he just wear down as he has in the past....

Oh well; I guess you can't find out until you possibly squeak into 8'th, so it will, if nothing else, be interesting....

Miller: "it was more of a neck and something where I aggravated a disc in my neck pretty good and we had an MRI and CT scan showing that which kind of backed that up and was the source of a lot of the tension and a lot of the discomfort. It definitely was limiting my range of motion."

Maybe it was a neck injury too, but he had a concussion. I'm frankly shocked that you don't remember that. Brought up every time the Sabres played a national game for a loooong time there.

Although I don't want to revisit this argument, some numbers to back up this overall point. Since the all star break :

1.85GAA
.938 Sv%
3 Shutouts

Uh... Not quite sure what you mean. I said the Lucic incident gave Miller a "concussion", yet I seem to recall, with that statement, it was said it turned out to be a neck injury and NOT a concussion like originally thought.

He was definitely concussed, that wasn't in question. A concussion is a neurological diagnosis, not physical.

What he's talking about was the neck injury which caused a longer period of concussion-like symptoms and delayed his return further.

oh, okay. gotcha. I guess I was curious because I always see Boston fans bashing him for "faking" a concussion. Only an idiot like me would actually think Boston fans are right (I didn't think he faked it I thought they got the diagnosis wrong).

Those Boston fans tend to forget that the Bruin's team doctors are the ones that diagnosed the concussion.

You can safely ignore them. :)

This is true. I thought the ASG was a good place to break the stat calculation.
