Really those guys are incredible homers. God for bid something doesn't get called in there favor. There almost as annoying as the Pens and NBC Sports net idiots

Everyone is a homer for their team. I think the Boston guys are fair in their analysis of how their team is playing vs. their opponents, even if they root for Boston.

There's a difference between being a homer, and making fun of a guy who just got boarded by Lucic or Chara... It's been done...

Sometimes I don't mind Jack Edwards, but I can't stand Joe Beninati of the Caps broadcast team.

Andy Brickley is ok. Jack Edwards makes me want to take a hacksaw to my flat screen. I pray for the time when I go to a Sabres/Bruins game and "randomly" cross paths with Edwards on his way in/out of the building and "accidentally" hip check him into a water fountain/nacho cheese dispenser/stinky urinal.

I like Brickley, too, but Edwards is the worst of the worst.

I would love Razor to take Gare's place. Stick Gare down in the boards and let him chime in once in awhile but otherwise cut his mic.

It's not Anaheim you're thinking of. Ahlers and Hayward are pretty good. People comment all the time on hf about liking them.

Oh ya, Sylvester is horrible, except the way he pronounces his G's.

I liked him when he was down there originally, before he went to Columbus

Honestly, if you take any of the other American northeast team broadcasters (New Jersey, Rangers, Islanders, Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington), I think Boston has the best team outside of Buffalo.

IMHO Jack Edwards=worst announcer ever. He's just a dick, RJ at least respects other players and if they get hurt he actually shows concern. If a Bruin does some dirty shit and the guy gets hurt he blames it on the hurt guy!

He usually calls the play, instead of trying to squeeze in his anecdotes on a player every time he mentions that player's name a la Doc Emerick and many others. That, combined with Brickley's VERY good color commentary makes them preferable to most any other team in the league to me. Shoot me.

I can't stand that Boston Announcer Jack Edwards, he makes it sound like Boston is the best team ever and no-one compares to them. What ever happened to Jiggs McDonald. He had a pretty darn good voice and I miss Gary Thorne doing hockey games.

I'm not quite sure calling the plays makes you the best commentator. I think it makes you a commentator in general, cause that's kind of their job. :?

And his "play calling" usually consists of boasting about how much Lucic is cool.

I don't remember which game it was, but it was with Sylvestor calling it where they even said they were homers for their team, but then were like all announcers are homers.

I think it was the Pens game were we won 6-2 they said that.

And Kevin Sylvestor isn't all that bad. We've been spoiled by RJ, but he is the best we got and what we will probably be hearing when RJ retires, or dies. Whichever does come first.

RJ was a nightmare on radio. His inflection was horrible; gave no realistic account of the game. TV; legendary - with visual back up he has rocked for years. RJ would never have become iconic without TV, believe me. He did, and I think it's unanimous how much we all love him.

Ted Darling was the ultimate on radio broadcasts. He painted a picture like an artist, of what was taking place during a game. RJ couldn't carry Ted's jock in that respect.

Edwards may be a dick, but he and Brickley are more entertaining than Sylvester and Gare. Give Duff a shot or lure Rick Peckham away from Tampa.
