still. they wernt moved to san diego as a temporary spot. so LA didnt steal the braves. and from the sounds of it, the buffalo fans didnt support the braves at all.

Yea, but in a way LA got them so they kinda stole them, if you think outside of the box kind of way.

But I don't care about Basketball anymore, so I honestly don't care who has a team and doesn't.

Well, Mike, for a community that "from the sounds of it, the buffalo fans didnt support the braves at all", why would the city have filed a restraining order against the buyer of the team to prevent him from coming to Buffalo to sign the paperwork?

not sure. attendence was a big factor in their move (interesting tidbit. the celtics owner traded franchises with the braves owner, cause the celts owner was a california business man)

basketball just didnt seem to appeal to them, from what ive read. i got alot of time on my hands, sue me.

The Buffalo Braves drew well when they were competitive. Too many seasons they were not. Former owner Paul Snyder would always threaten to sell the team if certain ticket sales weren't met.

Competant ownership would have ensured the team stayed here longer. The list of players through BUffalo in the last couple years is quite mind boggling. Bob McAdoo, Adrian Dantley, Jim McMillan, John Shumate, Randy Smith, Tiny Archibald, Bill Willoughby, Marvin Barnes, Bird Averitt, Gar Heard, Billy Knight, Bill Weiss, Swen Nater; and someone named MOSES MALONE.

They weren't all going to be there at the same point as some were traded for one another; but the fact they could have been great holds true.

Screw Paul Snyder, and fuck John Y. Brown, who he sold the team to...

You Bastards!!

Yep, ETC. Glad your expert opinion is now available :D

And Laura, no you don't understand. The Clippers are FUCKING CURSED. As in, we as Buffalo fans are the only people on the planet who can fathom how goddamned cursed the Clippers are. And Bill Simmons, too - here's his take on this unholy terror.

Attendance took a shit because of the unsettled ownership nonsense, and the failed attempted sale.

Not saying they'd still be here if none of that happened, but once the first sale fell through the team was dead in the water here.

Yes; he wanted some guarantee about playing time, and they "wisely" elected to not to grant it. He was subsequently moved to Houston.

Buffalo had acquired him from Portland for a number one pick in 1976, just prior to the season. After two games he was dealt to Houston for two first round picks.
