How many hours do you have logged in making this set atm?

Too many to number. For a rough idea, here's a bit of a before picture...

holy jesus. Comparing the two (then and now) really brings it full circle. Not sure if I'd have the steadiness to do this. Really good work!

Yeah, this small scale is a little annoying because things have to be a bit more precise. I have big hands so I have working with little pieces.

This is what the trees come as. I could buy premade trees, but its way more expensive and less fun.

My hobbies are as follows:
Hanging out with friends, listening to muuuuusic, researching random things, Sabres hockey, homework. In that order. Homework includes reading that isn't for class. I just pretend that I have to do it.

Scenery

The (Still Growing) Forest

Image
The (unfinished) lake and river. This is the only part that I don't really like

Image
View through the trees and my groin. Some trees are better made than others.

Image
The two duller colored trees are two of the three that weren't hand made. The cabin was also not hand made.

Image
The hill/mountain. Still adding trees.

Image
The Rock Tunnel, I did a really good job on this I think.

Image
The mountain pass. You can see where the plastercloth from the hill leaves some small gaps.

Other Cars

Image
I actually made this one with parts from a few different cars. It wasn't initially a flatbed car, it had some kind of radio apparatus on it, but it was falling apart because the car is about 30 years old, so I took new wheels and trucks, updated the couplings, painted it and put the Earnhardt car on top.

Image
This caboose is also about 30 years old. I have the Santa Fe Engine that goes with it, but it doesn't work very well anymore. The couplings and wheels are all new I believe.

Image
Burlington Locomotive. I really like the look, but I don't run it very often.

Image
This is NOT the Santa Fe engine that goes with the caboose. I bought this yesterday because it was cheap and I thought it looked kind of cool. One thing...it is FAST. At least three times faster than all my other engines.

Image
Newer Caboose

Image
Chessie System Locomotive that I usually run with my boxcar setup.

Image
My favorite boxcar, had to switch out the couplings to knuckles. Door opens and closes.

Image
The afore mentioned Santa Fe Engine. It's about thirty years old and doesn't really work. I think there are connection issues in the interior electronics. That or I might have blown a fuse in it. I'm going to take it in to get looked at soon.

The Simpsons.

I used to have a nice train setup. All 1940's and 1950's Lionel or American Flyer trains, with dioramas and scenery from the same era.

Unfortunately, a burst water pipe wrecked it - none of the items of value were damaged, but the scenery (foam, grass, etc) was trash.

I'm going to start fresh but haven't had the time recently.

Yeah, I spent way more time effort and money on scenery than I have on anything else.

Pretty sure my next project is going to be N scale because it takes up less space, costs less, and I'm either going to make a sweet huge layout, or model some part of buffalo

Yeah, I went pretty large with mine - 7' x 8' table. Scenery was okay, nothing special, didn't use as much foam and texture as I'd have liked. Track layout with railyards and stuff was awesome though, all old auto switch tracks that still worked, some needed repair but nothing major. Also had old crossing gates and a ton of lights. Had a new transformer for Lionel trains, an old transformer for the American Flyer, and an old one for the accessories.

Right now it's all packed away. Water damaged the table and scenery, so I need to start fresh there. Remodeling has taken away my old train space, I have room in the basement if I actually clean it.

Maybe over the winter I'll be ambitious and start it up again. I feel like I never even finished my old setup, 8 years into it, before it was ruined. There's always things to be adding and changing.
