Kaleta had to adjust his game after it became obvious he was a marked man by the officials. Aside from getting hurt too much, he did a pretty good job of it. I prefer the team is good enough to keep him as a 4th liner, but due to his skating and solid defensive game he could actually become the 3rd RW depending how the rest of the summer goes. 1.25 mil is what I expected and that's a fair cap hit for 3 years. I just hope he can play 65+ games for once.

Man if we can sign Shane Doan. Can you imagine how hard of a team that would be to play against?

We'd definitely be a force to be reckoned with if we had Scott, Doan, Ott and Kaleta on same team.

ehhhh, he's one of OUR better defensive forwards, especially now that Roy and Hecht are gone. He might be in the top 50 of defensive forwards, but that's pushing it. MAYBE top 30 of forwards on the PK. he's much better on the PK than 5v5 because he never exits the play.

either way, great signing. it's a steal for the hatred he generates, and not much of a cap hit to eat when he's on the DL.

yeah, i like doan, but he's old. i'd roll with him for 3 years, 16.5 mil, 7 year one, 6 year two, 3.5 year three. bonuses in year 3.

he's just too old and played too much old school hockey to last a lot longer. he didn't play the same game as teemu.

Kaleta makes 250k more than Boyes.. HAHAHA little things like that make me smile. Stupid Islanders

I've decided i'm going to talk in pictures as much as possible..

Not that they will likely see much ice time together but I see Pattymouth, Ott and Scott as a modern day Rayzor, Bam-bam and May-day trio. All three are willing to toss knuckles just as the guys from yester-years were, but I'm more so interested in hearing some of the shit talk Ott and Patty will be preaching to opposing teams.

Can't wait for next season to start. As long as the union and owners can get something done, of course.
