Whether you think Kennedy has been good or not, you can't deny that the job he's done away from the puck and behind the play has resulted in the goals his line has scored this season.

That pressure play he made in Tampa to get the puck to Grier was extremely heads up. He saw the defenseman with his head down waiting for the pass and he buried his head and rocketed over to him. Great job by Kennedy.

Myers, who we're all drooling over, scored a beautiful goal in the shootout. That big long reach forced Smith to overcommit.

The point is, without Myers and Kennedy, we likely lose that game against Tampa.

So kudos to our rookies for a job well done on Saturday, and earlier games for that matter. Keep it up, boys.

Here, Here, I second this opinion (Tips up my beer to them both). Is it too early for my 4th round of ale? :)

Yeah, and we've also had very solid contributions from Montador and Grier, our free agency acquisitions. We better be careful, or this thread could soon turn into a Darcy love fest. :o

I'm hoping Kennedy gets rewarded soon. I've been very impressed with his game.

Kennedy's shown great hustle and a "nose" for the net...He's also taken a beating to advance the puck, and get it to his team-mates, for good scoring chances.

I like the kid. He has good grit, good eyes, good hands and good puck-sense.

I hope he isn't relegated to Portland. He adds another "spark" to a team that has been starved for such a "spark", for several seasons, now.

He won't have time for it this season, but once he bulks up Kennedy will be scoring a lot more. Once he can match his agility and puck handling with strength to fight off d-men, he'll be carrying the puck more and taking it to the net. It's great to see his effort, but he still gets knocked off the puck around the boards. I can't wait to see his first goal though, he really deserves one.

Kennedy is having a fairly good season already, if he keeps up his good work im sure he will have a pretty good ammount of goals and assists. And next year will be even better im sure.

In all honesty, I did NOT have this high of hopes for Myers this season. I saw him in a couple of Red/White games for the Canadian juniors before the pre-season, and was not all that impressed. At points it looked like he was dogging it, and just plain not hustling. Fast Forward to now...I will GLADLY eat any negative things I said about the kid while I was watching him.

I don't think ALL the credit should be laid on the shoulders of the young guns on this team, I do believe our FA vets have had an impact on the room, and the shedding of....Max, has definitely had a positive effect on this team. I have never been a big supporter of Afinogenov, but I wish him well in ATL.
