That's a great read...the praise his teammates have lauded on him alone should count for something.

I'll go goddamned nuts if Myers gets sent down. Goddamned nuts.

Tyler gets sent down, and Lindy and Darcy lose their jobs by season's-end.

Today I expressed my love to Myers at work. I was like, "TYLER!! That goal last night was SICK!! I screamed when it happened!"

I couldn't help myself.

If Darcy sends Myers down, I give him a week before he's fired. Then Lindy will leave at the end of the season because it truly shows the team is more worried about their financial situation than winning.

If Myers does get sent down, I guarantee everyone the bottom-line rational Darcy spouts will be that he doesn't want Myers becoming an RFA at 22 and UFA at 23.

No way is Myers going to be sent down. Darcy is just being political in that article, trying to make it sound as though it's such an important decision that he needs to see every game Myers plays in before he makes his ultimate decision. He'd be pissing off a hell of a lot of people if he sent Myers down, including most (if not all) the players.

We're 6-1-1... If it ain't broken...

We're 6-1-1 with our rookie 19-year-old defenseman putting up 2-3-5 and +8 in 8 game, playing arguably the hardest-to-adjust-to position in the game for a teen. Like you said, Caro, if it ain't broke...

If he gets sent down then its pure ignorance on Darcys part. Lets thing logically here people. Myers gets sent down, he doesnt play the rest of the year, we miss the playoffs, Mike grier wont resign, we lose him, we might lose patty K next season too. So then what? we get more excuses from the front officer on bull crap.

I tell you now people. This season IS MAKE OR BREAK! after 3 years its possible we lose a lot of these players... Rivet, Grier, Patty, Roy, Connolly... it will just get more and more ugly... so ya...

Make or Break Year people... Myers NEEDS to stay up.

It's not likely that he would be returned to junior. I wouldn't even consider that an option. The team is better with him, and to send him down would be cutting off your nose to spite your face. If he was playing like he did against Atlanta, then yes. But that was just one bad game; and he wasn't alone in that regard.

Not only that, Howie, but given how touted his ability to rebound from bad play and adjust to mistakes made by learning in-game, I'd say he had a fluky night against Atlanta.

Gotta keep the kid's "feet to the fire" - Now's the time to absorb, adjust and adapt. Otherwise he'll simply stagnate.

Can you even imagine how bored he'd get in the Dub and how badly he'd coast? It'd be pathetic to see :(

There's no way in hell that he goes down. No way. I'd bet my house on it.

It's not even a question. Darcy is being non-committal because that's what you do in sports these days.

Bingo. That's just along the lines of what I was going to say. Keep him thinking there's a chance and keep him at the top of his game. As long as the "decision has not been made" he's playing like he's got something to prove.

Exactly. It's just more bland, generic coach/GM speak. Darcy isn't going to announce anything until it's necessary. What if Myers gets injured next game and Darcy already announced that they're keeping him? "Uh, we uh...actually are sending him back to Kelowna because his development is slow. No really Bettman it's true...nothing to see here guys...". Besides, he's tired of the Buffalo News writers being jack asses with him so he's not going to give them any inside info anyway.

Myers is staying, but there's no need for Darcy to tell anyone yet. I do enjoy the lemming mentality that this subject brings out in people though. It's mildly entertaining.

I'm sure Darcy doesn't want Myers to get cocky or whatever by saying something about him not going down until the 9 or 10 games are played.

Myers doesn't seem like the type of kid to get cocky. I think he's just thrilled to be here.

You can see it in his smile during the post game interviews. He's just a big goofy kid who's loving every second of his time up here in the NHL. It's difficult not to smile while watching his interviews.

What a fucking player he's going to be...
