I like the number, it's refreshing to see. Kind of like Gretzkys 99 that said "hey, I'm not just another average player!"

I wish he'd get his 3 back because of all the media we saw about him last season featuring his red, teal, an white sweater emblazoned with that big, singular digit. He sure looked fantastic in that 3.

Myers just got mad love from the guys on VS after the caps flyers game. They brought up the nine games issue, and said of COURSE he's staying up, he's ready, etc etc. Praised his skating ability and point production, compared him a lot to chara.

Damn...They essentially said he was head-and-shoulders ABOVE Chara, at this point in his development...

:D

Affirmation. It's a sweet thing.

Well if he goes down, Darcy wants us to lose so we get the first overall pick then.

Interesting question. I would like to see him on the team for the full season. Live for the moment 8-)

He should chose 63. No one wears 63.

Since he is 6'8'' he should take 68...Gerbe has #42 for the same reason :D

Wow, that guy can't do math. He becomes an unrestricted at age 26, not 25. It is 7 years in the league or 27 whichever comes first.

Crosby is an unrestricted free agent at 25 since he started at age 18.

I thought of this exact same thing but...

They say because he's so young that he's prolly gonna grow an inch and end up at 6' 9"... So really, he should choose 69... I know I do..

well it appears decision time is fast approaching. i would think another trade may be in order as sekera is projected to return this weekend. and lydman to heal eventually. i highly doubt butler will get sent back down. they could potentially put lydman on IR and hide him in the AHL call it recooperating. something like what the flyers did to briere. i don't know the exacts. but none the less, decision time is close.

You can play in the AHL for a week I think, or 5 games or something for conditioning.

Briere did it, Emery did it, I think Broduer did it when he first came back. It is legal to do after being on the IR, but only for a week or something.

When I think of the impending "decision" regarding whether Myers stays up, I always think of Bonesaw from Spiderman.

I dont understand the question. Why not have him at 19 and then sign him long term when the time comes. Let's see he'll be 21 in the final year of his ETC. What about a 9 year deal worth 54 mill. 6 mill a year cap hit. But it could be broken down like 4, 4, 6, 6, 8, 8, 6, 6, 6. Either way I dont think we'll have a problem resigning this guy when the time comes. Especially if the fans treat him the way he has been treated so far. A couple buddies of mine were in Myers' grad class at my old high school. They said he loves Buffalo and the organization. Also Myers is probably watching his buddy Schenn go through rough times in the biggest hockey market. He's probably much happier being in a hockey crazy market like Buffalo but without the spotlight that comes with being a Maple Leaf.

I haven't seen anything on a decision this morning, but the day is young. When is the actual deadline for Darcy?

There isn't really. He has to PLAY 10 games to make the contract tick.

Technically, they could keep him up for days without deciding.

More realistically, however, the 'deadline' is the game against Toronto tomorrow.
