I've always considered Colin Cowhert to be an effete, metrosexual, pretty-boy pussy who is about as credible of a source for sports as Clay Aiken. I rarely listen to his show, but happened to catch the beginning as the Howard Simon show switched over. Now, if possible, I actually think even less of him.

According to Colin The Panzy, there are too many professional sports teams and Buffalo as a city just isn't worthy of the NFL. He says Buffalo is depressed and the Bills need to be disbanded ASAP, as their mere existence does damage to both the NFL and professional sports in general. He hopes the recession wipes them out.

Now, of course Buffalo is suffering economic hardship, but to wish for PERHAPS THE MOST INTENSELY LOYAL FANS IN SPORTS to have their team contracted shows this pussy is completely out of touch with what football and sports is really all about.

Fuck him. I hope his lame ass show gets canceled, because there are too many national sports-talk shows already and his is absolutely worthless.

Well, it seems like there are plenty of loyal fans around the USA for Buffalo still.

Going to the Charlotte game and seeing how many Buffalo fans who went was amazing. Many of them moved away but are still very loyal to the team.

I heard it, I disagree with it. I think his point and justification, that the Bills aren't nationally compelling, is correct, even if his methodology in solving the problem is flawed.

He lumped us in with the raiders as a bad team with an owner that is incresingly out of touch with reality, which seems more true by the day.

He also criticized the Toronto experiment as a gimmick, which he is correct in saying as well. If Ralph was willing to curb some of his ego and take the necessary steps to put good football people in the front office, and a winner on the field, we wouldn't need to expand our sphere of influence.

His discussion of disbanding the Bills is ludicrous, but much of the points made were spot on.

He said the same thing about the raiders, and they're in a similar ownership situation as the Bills and no one here is complaining even though saying the same thing about the raiders is just as ridiculous.

If you're going to complain, at least do it in a way that doesn't completely underline your bias in the matter.

Do the Raiders have any fans that actually care if the team folds? I would say they have less than what the Bills do.

I do agree that the Bills aren't nationally compelling. However, his position that folding the team is a better option than fixing the problems are ludicrous.

The Packers were 6-10 last year, and are in a smaller market than Buffalo. Where were his calls to fold that team?

The prissy douchefag wants to disband a lot of sports teams, but for obvious reasons I'm specifically focusing on what he said about Buffalo. Fuck him...no excuses or justifications will be accepted.

The packers are and have been more nationally relevant in recent years than the Bills, and their ticket waiting list is supposedly about 8 miles long.

Like I said, it's a rare miss for herd, but a lot of what he said was pretty on point, even if the overall statement of disbanding the Bills is ridiculous.

And you're asking if the raiders have a large contingent of diehard fans. Really...the raiders, who play in one of the msot famous stadiums in the NFL?

You're infatuated. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's apathy. If you really didn't like him, you'd just turn him off and wouldn't give him publicity. This is what I do with Mike and Mike in the morning. Uh click, radio off, don't have to think about it, problem solved.

I understand though, you and Herd are pretty opposite. You're exactly the kind of fan that Cowherd hates and rails on constantly. If you truly devalue his opinion, that knowledge won't bother you. Cowherd likes a more cerebral, secular fan with a broad interest as opposed to die hards that pull for the local team. I love both. You'll be hard pressed to find a bigger Bills or Sabres fan than I, but at the same time, I'm interested about things across sports, so long as they're interesting. I love going to Bills and Sabres games and yelling nonstop for three hours while consuming beer, but I like hearing about USC, and instant replay in baseball.

A lot of people hate that Herd doesn't talk hockey, and on occasion will poke fun at it, though he has given it some decent coverage recently and hasn't made fun of it in a while. I'm okay with this, I don't want him to talk hockey, he doesn't know hockey, he grew up in Seattle, LA and Las Vegas, why should he talk hockey. How obnoxious is it to hear someone talk about a sport they don't know well?

Hockey is what it is. It has the largest goup of loyal, devoted fans, and the smallest group of total fans. I'm okay with this. It's a niche sport! It's never going to catch on below the Mason Dixon line! They won't grow up with it, ever.

If I want to hear local discussion, and hockey talk I listen to WGR, or RJ and Harry, Roby and Rayzor.

I don't get why Squanto dislikes him though.

CV, you'd be wrong about some people not growing up with it. Especially if their parents are hockey nuts. Their kids will then grow up with hockey. And there are leagues that focus on hockey below the Mason Dixon line, just because you can't play it outside means nothing, plenty of inside rinks to go on.

But if a Buffalo team were to fold it would have to be a team which does not bring in alot of money for the city. The Bills bring in more money than the Sabres since it is a football team, and no one is going to fold the Bills. They've been around since the entire existence of the NFL. you would never fold an original team of the league ever.

But it's not aprt of the culture the way it is up north. I have no doubt that there are plenty of good hockey fans down south, but it will never catch on there. It is completely different growing up skating down on the old pond than it is growing up skating twice a week at the local rink and listening to your parents stories. how many NHLers are from below the MD line. Are there even 5?

I like your second point, and fully support this. But when the Browns moved, I lost faith in any professional sports league to follow that line of thinking. Money talks all too loudly.

Stop speaking for what I am and what I believe in. You don't know shit about me, but you like to put on your little 4th grade psychology cap and make ridiculous, broad sweeping diagnosis on a regular basis as if you know what the fuck you're talking about. You don't, so kindly keep your little snap judgments to yourself.

Now, if you would actually read what I wrote before typing out your uninformed opinions you would have seen in the original post that I rarely listen to his heinous show, but when Howard Simon ends my stream automatically jumps over and I happened to hear his rant against Buffalo. I think his show sucks, he's joke, and his opinions are almost never worth the air that's used to form sound, so I don't bother listenting. If he dislikes me and the rest of Buffalo's fans, as you suggest, than nothing could make me happier.

Plus it all depends on the kid, there are some players who were born in the South got into Hockey, but went north to play in leagues to get a better shot at the NHL.

The Browns moved because of an the owner moving them. But the NFL brought them back.

ROFLMAO! We's is maaaaaaaaad!

Thought if you didn't care, you would've just ignored him, my bad. I don't even turn herd on til 10:05 so I have no chance of hearing Mike and Mike.

Next time I'll let you rant instead of trying to develop a better understanding and level of credibility to a topic.

Clearly you just want to be angry guy and not angry, but let's take some time to think about this and figure out what the actual problems are and potential solutions may be. I think I'll join you now.

The comment is stupid and never should have been said. You'll never convince me of anything different, or get me to think about this topic at all just because it is WRONG, GRR!!

But I think that at least 23 of the then 30 NFL owners had to vote yea on the matter to get them to move. And I think there's also a vote on expansion too?

So the group of NFL owners, is in some sense a governing body for the NFL. You can kind of make the case that the NFL agreed to make them (that is if I have all my facts right to this point, which I may not). Granted the league itself cannot control how the owners vote anyways.

I don't really know where I was going with that, haha, but this topic is interesting.

And a team that can't really decide if it wants to play in LA or Oakland.......

I love sports. Sure, I love my teams, but in general, I love sports. Christ, I spent an entire day watching curling during the Olympics one year because I just found it fascinating. I have no problem listening to a discussion about a sport that I may not like for as long as it's interesting, and I will freely admit that sometimes Cowherd will do that.

What I don't like about Cowherd (and by extension some other personalities on sports talk radio) is that he "decides" what may be interesting and relevant, and what may not be. Things that Cowherd may find interesting, many others don't, and vice versa. I get that a topic might not be nationally interesting or important, but that certainly doesn't make it any less regionally important.

Cowherd tends to have a pricky 'if you don't agree with me, you're wrong' attitude, and I just don't care for it. Mike Schopp does the same thing sometimes, and I don't like it any more when he does it.

He's also been pretty irresponsible with his mouth. His comments about how Sean Taylor's death was directly related to how he grew up were downright stupid. To follow that up with comments trashing Redskins fans who were putting up memorials? Even worse.

To be fair, sometimes he has great interviews, and good, thoughtful discussions. I will give him credit for that. But, he tends to offset those positives with smart ass, uppity comments that I just don't care for. This Bills thing is no different. The points he made are very sound and reasonable. However, he blows up all his credibility by saying the team should fold.

And BTW, I am QUITE a cerebral fan with broad interests. My interests just don't match up with Cowherd's gloriously evolved lists of relevant topics.

Yea it is something like 75% of owners need to vote for relocation and expansion now.

I think when the Colts moved to Indy there was no such vote to take place.
