Okay, a light night of drinking since I was busy packing for Disney...just 3 beers. I'll make up for it over the weekend, though.

Brilliant!....you'll never look back and your liver thanks you.

Remember, it's not the size of your kegerator, it's what you put in it ;)

I have no idea what I want to put in it to start...I think some Unearthly IPA from Southern Tier should be the virgin sacrifice.

Hell, still gotta get the damn thing, but I'm dead-set on it :D

Kudos Phil. That's a lifestyle commitment.

Where is Southern Tier brewery? Last I knew, Elicottville was the only place to get craft brewery beers in that neck of the woods.

Well, it's just outside of Jamestown...maybe 25 minutes southeast of the EBC site. They (Southern Tier) do a fantastic raspberry porter that makes HEAVENLY beer floats.

Both places are very good, and make me proud to live around here. 'Bout the only thing, actually ;)

Southern Tier has a solid nationwide reputation... I've never had any myself but I've heard everything about them.

What are the specs of the kegerator? Single, 1/2 keg fridge with 1 faucet, or something more?

regardless, you need to replace the faucet that comes on it with one of these.

Yea, the standard half-keg, single faucet. And it probably has one of those already, at least in that style...I'll probably get a customizable tap handle so I can let my guests know what's currently available.

My buddy Mike has a three-faucet, Corny keg system for his homebrewing. The man is a microbar.

You should get the perlick forward sealing faucet...it definitely won't come with it.

You can put a new hole in the tower and get another shank, line, faucet and hose for less than $100(run 2x5gal kegs at once instead of 1x15 gal keg).
Check out micromatic.com :D

EDIT: yeah, I run corny kegs and 5 gal. Sanke kegs next to each other...pick up some ball lock corny connectors and tell your homebrewing buddy you have an available "guest tap handle" available ;)

This is probably the tap handle I'm going to get. I love the design aesthetic of it, and so functional!

And yea, $32.suchandsuch doesn't look so bad for a fancy kegerator faucet.

Also, Stuuuu, hell yes that is a lifestyle commitment, and a damn proud one to make, too.

That is actually pretty pricey...
I do have a couple of these for parties

except I have the 4" model

Otherwise I roll with plain 3" black stub handles.

I think I'm gonna like this world I'm getting into :D

Something deep inside tells me that this is my first step toward home brewing, which is something I've always been interested in.

Go sign up at beeradvocate.com
They have a home draft/bar/kegerator section and lots of nice people.
Check out thebrewingnetwork.com if you're interested in homebrewing, because they kick ass.
Actually, check out TBN anyway because they kick ass royally (no need to be a homebrewer)

I'll probably get my start working with my aforementioned friend Mike. He seems like he wants an apprentice. One step at a time, though.
