Well in my GM mode, without me playing a single game, I went 39-39-4 and was in 11th I think in the Eastern Conference.

I traded for Zherdev and I signed Hudler as a UFA, and Vanek beasted and same with Zherdev and Pominville, same with Hecht and almost every traded proposed to me involved Hecht or Rivet.

On my BAP mode, I got drafted by the Rangers and decided to be a center, 2 points in 3 games on the third line, won two games out of three so far.

I decided to go to Walmart at midnight for this game. Good decision! This game rules! The Lightning offered Vaclav Prospal for Jochen Hecht!!! HAHA i took that hands down! Right now i'm 6-5-1 on a four game losing skid :-/

Oh, and i also love how they gave us the "prefer up" in the visual options screen so we don't have to switch the home team perspective every game!

Shoot from the point or always go to the front of the net, just like in real hockey.

I've had some beauty of point goals.

i do shoot from the point alot. i score alot more going down then up.

my only serious complaint about this game is the sound track. green day? green day has sucked, and has for about 15 years now. fuck off with the green day bullshit. not a huge fan of the nickleback or seether or whatever song it is either. and i dont like cky anymore either.

Offense has been hard to come by. I have a lot of people with like 5 points in 12 games. Vanek has been held of the score sheet a lot so far.

Stafford has been carrying the load so far.

So when I started the game, I put the difficulty on Superstar and set the new sliders to hardcore.

I have never played a harder sports game. I have been playing the Nhl games ever since they started being made, and I happy to see they FINALLY upped the difficulty.

Even with the hardest settings in 09, you could still find a way to beat the other team pretty easily.

With the new "hardcore" settings, passes are almost impossible in the offensive zone. Don't even think about trying to deke past players like Chara. Not going to work.

I lost my first 8 games in gm mode with these settings, but now i'm fourth in the eastern conference once I got used to it.

the problem is for me, scoring. i can play a very hard difficulty, and they wont score on me. but when i cant score, it pisses me off. so i play an easier difficulty because i know either way they wont score on me. what i typically do is up the difficulty for my AHL games, and then get used to it more, so im competitive before i bump it up for NHL games.

Yea scoring is my problem as well. I can mostly prevent the opposing team from scoring. If they do, it is going to be an impossible deflection...but after I don't score for 2 periods I tend to take more chances and make mistakes where they can get an easy 2 on 1 goal.

Miller rocks in the game, by the way. I almost always win with him, but Lalime I almost always lose with.

And I guess people are scoring easy on the cross crease passes without hardcore settings on. I'll tell ya, with them on...you'll be lucky to hit that pass 1 every 200 trys.

Only thing that bothers me...is the hardcore setting is supposed to be the most realistic...so why does the user bobble passes and the cpu hits the passes almost every single time?

i just outshot wilkes barre-scranton 26-15, and lost 3-1 :( with the pirates, i have scored all 10 of their goals in the third period.

with the sabres, i lost 3-0 to the thrashers, then won 3-2 in overtime against the panthers, then won 4-1 against the lightning. i wonder when ill lose again. i upped the cpu difficulty.

i love the new goalie animations.. this IS hockey. i LOVE the crowds now. i love this game, i just HATE the soundtrack outside a few songs. i wish they would just use electronic music they used to.

Well in my GM mode all I do is sim games and on my third year I ended up winning the Stanley Cup.

I also signed Jeff Carter, because he was unsigned for the entire FA period on my fourth year so I dumped some salary and signed him.

So my top line look like this: Vanek, Carter, Zherdev, not bad, and when Carter, Vanek and Hudler lead my team in playoff scoring it's pretty impressive.

MY team last year got knocked out in the first round, but where my team roster was rated in the GM options, I had a team ranked:
Offense: A-
Defense: B
Goaltending: A-
Toughness: B

I what I tend to do is look for young prospects with a B or B- potential and sign them to two way contracts. I found a few steals that way and my entire team will get better with those guys like that.

I just bought this game today, and I expect to play it all night.

How do you all like it?

LOVE IT!

But like the fellas have been saying. Scoring is a lot more difficult.

BTW, i find that the computer will get about 10-12 shots a game with like 2-3 goals so Millers S% is crap!

i find that if i bump the period minutes to 6 minute periods, it allows for anout 2-3 more shots a game, which make a huge difference when miller stops 12 of 14 shots before, now its at least 15 of 17.

lost to new jersey when butler decided to score a goal for new jersey. :|

anyone have any success trading teppo? no one wants him. and im really bummed perrsons not in the game. but ryan nie is! i remember watching him backstop the k-wings in 06-07 to game 7 of the coloniel cup finals.

On my GM mode I had offers involving Teppo, I didn't take any since I didn't have many defenders ready to take his place, and Rivet was a hot commodity his first year or two, I traded him for some picks after he started to suck.

But Gragani is a beast on my game, rated 85, and Sekera was a douche and didn't want to come back and same with Butler, so I had one former Sabre on my D-corps the last year I did.

But I still loved how I signed Cheecoo, St. Louis, both for just under 3 million a piece.

When I won the Cup I had the line of Vanek, Carter, St. Louis/Zherdev
Second line was equally as good, I think it was Pominville, Roy, Zherdev/ St. Louis.

I have spent to the cap every year, but still have about 44 players signed.

Signing guys under 23 with B or B- potential for 2-way contracts works in your favor more likely than not, they grow so fast, Gerbe was already rated an 85 on the team.

and the whole scoring thing, whenever I played as my BAP guy, I always do position lock but I haven't had trouble scoring, won 3 out of my four games, but having Lundqvist backstop you is pretty sweet.

Gosh, in the 2014-2015 Season for my GM mode my Sabres went 57-20-5 and got swept in the first round of the playoffs.

That sucks.

I did win the Stanley Cup in my third year as a GM, I've won the Calder Memorial twice, my first year as GM and in the 2013-2014 season.

The Sabres fired me after going 57-20-5 because he wanted me to make it to the third round of the playoffs and I didn't get the playoff performance in the past three years for them, it was funny.

Winning the Prez and getting that record and being fired, and building up a team of excellent talent, except on defense really. I had a decent defense that year also, signed Chara for two but he retired to help shore it up.

Who wouldn't want a
Vanek, Getzlaf, Some random guy who was good
I had Carter centering my second line And Gerbe on third line and Roy as fourth center.

My centers were Getzlaf at a 91 rating, Carter at 88 or 89, Gerbe at 87. So My centers were ridiculous.

Yea I've simmed though every season so far, I like to manage the team and build them up. And then getting your heart ripped out when you lose in the playoffs.

But time to change that, BAP mode here I come.
