So Sidney Crosby makes one save and the NHL has 5 or whatever clips about him saving a surefire goal.

http://www.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?id=50478

Any player who saw a shot coming and his goalie way out of the crease would have done the same damn thing if in his position. It is the same thing as blocking a shot by lying down on the ice at the circles.

And no one would have taken any notice to that player or made any deal about it at all unless it happened to be Sidney Crosby, so he must now have one total blocked shot in his career?

I don't remember hearing Praise Hal Gill or Scuderi when he stopped two goals from going into the net so Detroit couldn't tie up the 7th game and force OT.

That was a bigger non-goalie save than what Sidney just did there.

The best part of this Sid the Goalie shit?

It bumped Miller's SO off the front page.

Fuck the NHL. You had a real goalie up there already, pricks.

The closest person ever to Gretzky was Mario Lemiuex, and no one will ever top those two in PPG.

Gretzky was once in his career not a PPG player, and Mario was twice in his career not a PPG player.

And both of that happened at the ends of their careers.

Theres acutally those who believe that if Lemiux wasnt screwed over with back issues and cancer he could have been better the Gretzky.

It's not true though, you actually look at Gretzky's numbers his first ten years, and they are still higher than Lemiuex's numbers before his first retirement.

A 1.92 PPG average for Gretzky and a 1.88 PPG average for Mario.

Mario was a better goal scorer than Gretzky, but the passing and vision of Gretzky was like no one else.

Thats one more than OV. Honestly who cares if NHL.com wants to shove him down your throat. Puke him back up and ignore the front page and go to what you wanted to watch in the first place. Stop making threads about how much you hate NHL.com and Crosby. All that does is add to the fkn Crosby hoopla.
And BTW why hate Crosby for NHL.com making such a big deal about him. Its not like Crosby is saying make me the number one story on the website or else. No he goes out and plays his game and NHL.com will put whatever they feel is the better story on page one. If it was OV scoring a hattrick or stopping a shot would you have made this thread?

We are fans of the game, we're allowed to bitch about this.

And for Hattricks, I like them anyways and it is always an accomplishment to get one.

He's not the new market, he has been the market image for the NHL before he ever played a game.

Why haven't we heard anything about Stamkos or Tavares?

Stamkos has 11 goals, that is tied for second in the league, Tavares is the points leader on Long Island I believe.

There are way more players the NHL needs to market, like people have said. Crosby does not appeal to any NHL fans already, most hate the kid and it's not his fault, Crosby might draw in the googly eyed teenage girls to hockey, but people might also see he is the only player people talk about, and see how much marketing they do with him and turned away from NHL because of the hype and marketing of him only.

why is tiger woods still the face of golf? why is michael jordan STILL marketed by the NBA? and if its not michael, its either kobe or lebron. baseball has jeter (dont fucking get me started on that overrated piece of shit)

the NHL has their poster boy. stamkos will never be a crosby. tavares, for all his accolades, still is a mediocre skater, so its unlikely he will ever be a crosby. (im thinking maybe luc robitaille?)

the bottom line is people clamor for the NHL to get respect and air time. well, it does now, but now people are pissed its crosby. sorry, thats the way it is. thats the way it will be. people bitching about it is worse then the initial offense.

The reason Woods is for Golf is because of how important he is to that game.

He IS the best player to play golf.

Micheal Jordan and Kobe are both really good players, but you hear alot about others players than just Kobe or Jordan.

Golf is a one trick pony, but who cares about watching golf on TV anyways? I'd much rather play.

Basketball at least has many faces they talk about, Even when I watched Basketball it wasn't just one guy they pushed down your throats.

The NHL is only pushing Crosby into our heads. Why not show Ovie, Malkin, Kane, Datsyuk, Kovalchuk, Richards, Vanek, Stamkos, Carter, Miller, Lundqvist, Luongo, Broduer, Lidstrom, Backstrum, and many other players.

Push every player, and more people will want to see those players play.
