Impressed that we are more concerned with the Yankees than a Muslim killing 12 american soldiers in TEXAS.!!! I will say it Our prayers go out to the families and friends of the 12 murdered soldiers and 30 wounded and for the shooter BURN IN HELL

Of course, he's referring to the AMERICAN CITIZEN who was the shooter. Not some terrorist, some foreign citizen. An American. So what if he was Muslim, so what if his family was from Jordan.

HE WAS BORN IN FUCKING VIRGINIA. WHAT THE FUCK DOES HIS RELIGION HAVE TO DO WITH FUCKING ANYTHING?!?!?!?!

Sorry, I had to get that out, and I'm home by myself.

As soon as I found out the killer's name, I just shook my head and thought about all the ignorant people out there who going to run with it and harp on the fact that he was a Muslim. The same people who kept referring to Obama as Barack Hussein Obama during the election last year.

He was also a Major. That's not the profile of a terrorist, but of a guy who cracked.

If he was a Psychiatrist, it means he graduated from medical school as well; wow. It is Doctor Hasan then.

If he is a Psychologist, then he is still a Doctor, as he has a PHD!

Believe me; having worked in the field, there are some crazy - crazy people working, including Shrinks. Seriously, it's what attracts them to the field quite often.

That got my attention more than his name did. Yeesh.

Actually the only thing I notice about his name is that Hasan is almost Hassan, which is one of the characters in the book The Kite Runner.

Anyway, it is impossible to fault any Muslim for which version, shall I say, of his religion that he follows. It all comes down to abrogations, and those really come down to what a person prefers to believe... Of course, this is the extremely short way of explaining it. But, I mean. Islam is just... incredible... I've read the Qu'ran twice, along with several books written from different points of view, and it's so convoluted and complicated, and I cannot blame people for assuming terrorist any more than I can think that those who assume the majority of Muslims are like their peaceful, loving Muslim friends are foolish. I don't know. Education needs to be there, but honestly, I've read so much that... I don't blame people either way.

I do, however, very much despise the tone of what was said. I do not like at all when people throw others under the bus and condemn them based on either assumptions presuming a kind of guilt or on singular actions, without ever bothering to learn the motivations behind those actions. I cannot stand when people lack the ability to step back and wait and really think. These things are never so black-and-white. I have noticed that most people have a tendency to judge a person based on his actions in one case without first being given the context of those actions within his life, and they cling to that even after context is given... I hate it. I am an extremely holistic thinker, especially when it comes to others, and seeing it happen all the time just... I wish people would wait.

I am waiting for information on the motivation behind the shooting, myself... Oftentimes I end up very much empathizing and sympathizing with those who commit these acts; usually they could have been prevented with a single kindness, and the reasons that the killers tend to leave behind are usually truthful criticisms of our society, but there is such flawed thinking between those criticisms and the actions they choose to take... They fail to take the love that would save them from that and apply it to the ones they hate, and that's the difference.

Aaaanyway. We'll see.

Not me; I stopped caring about baseball before the season. Followed a little bit based on old habits.

Yankees win World Series; usually very upsetting to me as I hated them. Don't hate them anymore, don't care. I can honestly say I have emotionally emancipated myself from the game.

I agree although I don't know that it's necessarily true or if it's just his take on it. Believe me, this was the first thing we were paying attention to; not baseball. When my son called from Ft. Leonard Wood this evening, a good portion of our conversation was about what happened. He brought it up as I was afraid to tell him. I'm not always sure how much they're told.

He said their Sergeant gathered them around and was reading it in bullet format from his Blackberry. They all went over PTSD after that. The same people who are voluntarily protecting us get taken out by one of our own whom is supposed to be doing the same. SAD SAD SAD.

There is never an action, or series of events, that would facilitate the formulation of a logical, reasonable, course of action as a mass murder. In no religion or accepted code of ethics is a mass murder acceptable. I don't care how much you've read or how convoluted the Qu'ran is, mass murder is not acceptable and is not a legitimate action in any event.

I am not speaking from any sort of emotional tie to this situation. This is objective. If he did think that a MASS murder was legitimate based on his religion, he should know that what he believe is against American law. In EVERY case, laws override religion. That itself makes his actions unacceptable in any case. I also believe this man should stand trial and face the death penalty.

There is a difference between being a holistic thinker and ignoring any standard of ethics or law. This man was in the wrong, in any situation, case, and day. There is never a time where one person takes the law into their own hands and decides that taking away basic, irrefutable human rights (the right to live) is a correct reaction.

Mike, that's the first time I think I've agreed with you. I'm entirely too closely attached to this situation so I'm admittedly not always un-biased. To think that this is where my son and his gf could have been duty stationed is unfathomable.
I makes me sick to my stomach not only as the Mom of a soldier, but as a U.S. citizen to have to worry that our soldiers can be in just as much danger HERE as overseas. That is some scary ass shit. There was a very similar incident at another U.S. base in August (although not on this scale.)

Here is the latest: http://www.latimes.com/news/la-na-fort- ... 1651.story

I hope the bastard fries in a chair. Imagine the parents of those 12 soldiers and the 31 others that were injured. QTF.
