I would love to get him also, but I don't see how we could clear the extra 2 million on a trade, unless we just ended up dumping players or waiving players.

One way to make the money work would be something along the lines of Pominville + Lydman or Tallinder for Niedermayer + Pick or Prospect.

We wouldn't have to send out Pommers for him. At the dealine we only need to pay half of his salary and cap hit. So we would need to free up at least 2 more million to have the 3 to pick him up in a trade.

Yeah, this just seems like a very un-Darcy like thing to do. He would never ship out a core player like Pommers for a rental player. To get Nieds it would probably take more than just Pommers anyway, and quite frankly in the long run, we need alot more offensive support, because we have alot of depth and alot of really good young guys on D.

They would be looking to dump salary; so Pominville defeats that thinking. The only really good young players/prospects we have are Myers and Kassian.

Who do we dump to allow him to fit in?

No thank you. If we could pick him up for secondary talent, or overpaid players, or secondary prospects - then hell yes. That ain't happening.

What's the market for Pommers? Projected 21 goals?? These GM's only go by what you're doing NOW. Pommers and Hecht are linked at the hip right now. They may as well be Ang and Chang(sp.), because you ain't getting rid of either one. Tallinder is the guy that may have value right now, but to increase that value, he may need to be signed. Darcy is the guy to pay up too; I think. Hank seems to be the teams only commodity right now if he even is. He looks good to me so far.

It would take a prospect like Myers to get Niedermayer and 3 players and picks to get him, just think of what Philly gave up for Pronger.

Myers is no longer a prospect. He is pretty much untouchable at this point.
