Hey all. I just thought that since I shared all the bad news about me and my girlfriend last year, I ought to tell you all about the good news as well.

Last weekend, among many strange and remarkable events (including staying in the only house on a block that wasn't damaged by a freak tornado on the coast), I got engaged.

As happy as I am with my relationship, it's hard not to be a little freaked out about the ending of one phase of my life and the beginning of another. I am now officially a middle-aged man. :violin: Somebody please tell me how great marriage is.

Actually man...I love being married :)

Every time I see my friends that are still going out to bars and trying to hook up I always think "I'm glad I don't have to do that crap anymore"

Congratulations!

Congratulations! I loved being married..my ex apparently didnt. It is a wonderful place in life if both stay there. Beware of the 39-40 stage....other than that, marriage is awesome! BTW apostrophes omitted in honor of you! lol

I've been married for 22 years now, to the same man. LOL
I wouldn't trade our life together for the world. We know eachother so well...we are like 2 halves of a whole. I cannot imagine living without him- that's called a nightmare. Marrying the right person makes your life so much more.

Yes, I am very enthusiastic about marriage. :D
