 I HATE aol. Keeps kicking me off in the middle of chat. I've had nothing but problems with the software and its incompatibility with every other program I use.

I got rid of it years ago and just keep the webmail, but it still sucks ass. Grr!

That is all.

AOL stopped selling dial-up 3 years ago. People still use it, but they no longer sell it.

AOL is a lot of things that most people don't realize.

Mapquest
AIM
ICQ
Winamp
Engadget (Weblogs)
TMZ
Truveo
Platform-A (largest ad network behind google)
CNN
Netscape
Moviephone
Asylum
ATDN (one of the largest IP backbones on the planet)
etc.....

Fortunately, I don't use most of those products; just the webmail and IM.

Bleah!

When getting online in the middle of the night was impossible because it would wake everybody up...

I imitate this on a weekly basis, probably. Fun to incorporate into beatboxing and seeing if anybody notices. :D

Back when the internet was comprised of what....50 pages from 5 Universities?

I built my first computer I think in 1988 or 89....386 with two 256 k memory sticks (had to be in matched pairs), and a 512 k hard drive. DOS was the operating system. EVERYTHING had to be configured manually...IRQs, DMAs and God forbid there was a conflict.

A couple of years later, I went to a 386 with an internal co-processor and Seagate came out with a whopping 1 meg hard drive. the pair of 8 meg memory sticks were almost 400 bucks! But windows 311 smoked! And that computer had a modem! WOO HOO! Dial-up, 8 bit.....The conflicts took me a week to sort out with that one. I wrote a batch file to start 311 which said, "what is your command master?" I had to type back, "Open the Window, bitch!" The 311 start up read, "Anything for you master." My ex wasnt amused.....but she laughed like hell went I got my first virus....The Monkey virus......
