Ha, I'm sure 'Hawks fans say the same thing about us in regards to Patrick Kane.

Ya but Chicago had a higher draft pick, its not like we could have gotten him and we passed him up...

I'm sure if he took the Hitmen to the Memorial Cup, he'd be watched even more

But seriously, Sutters, FUCK OFF

Remember the WHL Finals last year phil. Calgary and Kelowna and Myers leads the way to a 4-1 series win over the favored Hitmen and winning the MVP. They saw enough of him last year to know that this kid was for real. Tonight just added more salt to the wound

I remember that, but it was actually a 4-2 series win. You're right about who lead the way, though. With the Chynoweth Cup in his sight, Myers (along with Benn, who I think is going to be dynamite for Dallas) picked up that team and basically willed them to victory. I remember listening to Game Six and Prospera Place was SOOOOO LOUD.

Yes right 4-2. Should have won 4-1 but they felt like takin' er home. Benn probably would have gotten the MVP if it wasnt for concussion oops I mean upper body injury.

Man, following last season's Rockets through the season and the playoffs was so fun. Myers made Kelowna fans out of a lot of people who had never even heard of the city before (myself, included). That's how you know those kids are special. Myers, Benn, Backlund, Long, the Bloodoffs, Guggenberger (which, it makes me sad to say, still hasn't found anyone to sign him).

I know watching him in the World Juniors was something else though. He skated so smoothly and he was smart. Glad I got to see him play before the NHL also.

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.

The title of this thread had me choking on my coffee this morning when I read it. Calgary seems to have a way of landing big (name/size) defense. See: Phaneuf/Bouwmeester/Regehr/Sarich.

I know this last point should be in the NHL forum, but has anyone looked at Kipper's stats for the season? For a team with arguably the best defense in the league, he sure is facing alot of shots. I think he's around the 500 mark in 16 games. I mean I'm glad the guys finally found his legs again ( I think a Sutter behind the bench really helped his confidence again, lets be honest he hasn't been very good since Darryl stepped down as head coach).

EDIT: He's at 495 shots in 16 games. Putting him at 7th in the league for SA. He's facing roughly 30 shots a night. WTF?!??!
