Not only did Ralph have to sit through that putrid game Sunday, but he had to suffer getting flipped off by an 86 year old.

He didn't take it well!

now they won't but should hire a guy like cowher to come in and be the president/GM until the end of the season then hire him as the head coach. give cowher a chance to get the personnel in there and then he can take over as coach and the team will at least be heading in the right direction. THey still need to draft the right QB or draft a quality lineman this year and a QB next year.

It is now official that fewell is the interim head coach

Fewell named interim head coach
Chris Brown, Lead Journalist
Posted Nov 17, 2009

The Bills moved quickly after owner Ralph Wilson relieved Dick Jauron of his head coaching duties, naming defensive coordinator Perry Fewell interim head coach.

“Perry Fewell will be our Interim Head Coach," said owner Ralph Wilson in a team statement. "Perry has done a great job with our defense and has demonstrated excellent leadership skills as Defensive Coordinator. Our players and staff have a lot of confidence in him and that is important as we look forward to these next seven games.”

Fewell will address the media at an 8:30 pm press conference, which will be carried live right here. - http://www.buffalobills.com/media-loung ... video.html

For Fewell, 47, it’s the first time he’s been a head coach in his coaching career. This is Fewell’s 12th year as an NFL assistant coach having served as a defensive coordinator under the departed Dick Jauron the past four seasons.

He’s the first interim head coach of the Bills since Hall of Fame head coach Marv Levy was hired as an interim head coach in 1986 replacing Hank Bullough.

Fewell’s defense has fallen on hard times this season due mainly to a myriad of injuries. He’s already lost starters Kawika Mitchell and Leodis McKelvin for the season and last week was also without fellow starters Keith Ellison, Terrence McGee, Donte Whitner and Kyle Williams. Middle linebacker Paul Posluszny and safety Bryan Scott have also missed a handful of games this season.

Nevertheless Fewell’s defense leads the AFC in takeaways with 19, thanks in large part to rookie Jairus Byrd who leads the NFL in interceptions with eight.

Fewell has previously served as defensive backs coach with the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars.

He joined the NFL ranks after a three-year stint at Vanderbilt University where he last served as assistant head coach and secondary coach.

I'd love to see Cowher, Shanahan or Marty come to Buffalo, would be AMAZING. The team would get 10 wins next year easy.

I was hoping Bobby April was the new interim when I first heard Jarhead got fired.

Jauron is only the tail of this rotten fish. His firing is of little consequence unless competant management is put in place. The last time this happened was when Bill Polian was here.

I'm not holding my breath. We have sucked, suck, and will continue to suck unless Ralph hires a quality management team.

Well, something is coming. I trust Vic Carucci's opinion quite a bit, and he's pretty dead sure that Brandon is going back to managing purely the business side of the Bills. He's also pretty sure that Ralphie Boy is ready to fork over the big bucks to a head coach/GM who will tear the team apart and rebuild it in his vision. If this were to be true, I'd love to see Shanahan and his focus on offense come to Buffalo.

Me too...I believe he's been with this team the longest. We'll see.

I wish they had listened to us and just fired him at the end of last season.

I was hoping for April as well. I think Levy was the kicking teams coach (his term) when he was brought in for Bullough?

I hope Ralph is willing to spend for a proven winner, but I'd rather it be two separate entities, not one coach/GM. Holmgren's and Shanahan's teams both falter a bit when they were doing double duty.

I know, we can bring back another alumnus, as soon as his time in Dallas is done - Sign him to a four-year contract and all go hang ourselves.

i'd say realistically it's going to be haslet and Rick Mueller as GM. Mueller runs the UFL, and Haslet is one of the coaches and an ex bill. personally i hope a guy like shannahan or cowher are the coach. both developed QB's Cutler was a probowler under shannahan. and rothlesberger in pittsburgh.

i really hope if they decide to go QB they go Locker over clausen. I think clausen is a product of charlie weis, and he hasn't won against a really good team. plus the brady quinn factor reigns over. as well notre dame has had one of the easiest schedules this season. Locker is a small school guy who has proved himself a talent.

I want Schottenheimer on as a coach. Who cares if he hasn't won a Superbowl, if we make the playoffs every year, we will by accident just like Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning did.

That team was good, and their defense stiffened up and could stop a run play from happening.

They weren't lucky, they were that good, remember they came back from an 18 point halftime deficit against the Patriots.
