Bull shit.

He doesn't have to be, as long as he isn't a moron he'd notice that Ruff benches after a single mistake

Nicely, please.

This shit isn't worth the hard feelings. Go along to get along or the thread gets closed and feelings get hurt.

And the mods aren't pricks, but we have been known to be Draconian in the finality of the dismissals; and there have been a couple. Let's remember why we all came here, please.

Thanx.

It was over the edge, but I'm sick of people blaming Lindy for Max being a fuck up.

Especially when they throw in a moron comment.

I'm heart broken.

I've always found comments like that smug.

i believe the Decline and Max was Max's fault compounded later by Ruff. Max started to slack, or he got into a slump, or his defensive inadequacies became overly apparent and lasted long enough that he became a liability. because of this, Ruff benched him. he would let him back on with a short leash but he was quick to pull it back. this caused Max to suck it up even more resulting in his status when he finally left the team.

part of the issue with Max was that for years and years he lived on the potential that he would become a superstar (much like Myers). However this never happened. Fans would get a taste of what Max could go from time to time, giving people flashback to when players would go end to end, blowing past defenders, make the goalie look crippled and score. People started to demand more of Max, wanting the Ovechkin like player that showed up every now and then. Eventually people realized that Max wasnt going to live up to his potential and started to turn on him. This coupled with his slump/slacking led to Ruffs actions against him.

players talk. remember how vehemetly peca and kozlov spoke against buffalo following their departure? kozlov was miserable in buffalo. i remember a poll taken by players a few years ago that ranked the teams players liked playing for. and buffalo was dead last. i think some players love it, and others hate it.

as for max, im glad hes doing well.

Don't you be putting Myers and Max in the same sentence.

Two totally different kind of players.

Normally I would agree with you, but at this moment it works. everyone is drunk on Myers after a hand full of games. We are all seeing the potential that he has to be our superstar defenseman of the future. Much the same way Max was going to be our superstar forward of the future back in the late 90's.

that being said, heres hoping Myers doesnt turn out like Max :obscene-drinkingcheers:

That or he is actually trying this year. ;)

I don't understand this 'logic', that a player in his contract year trying to earn a salary for next season would just not try
... it's ridiculous to say the least

Max is still causing controversy in Buffalo(well on Sabresjunkie at least) and he's not even here. Talk about locker room cancer....

and it was never about him trying.

Can't we all see Max for what he really is?
A skilled, entertaining, dangler who will put up points when given good linemates, but is always a defensive liability. He tries to do too many pretty moves which he normally ends up fucking up, or his linemates are too confused to know what to do. He'll sell jerseys. That's about it. If you are looking for the betterment of a team as a whole, Max should not be in your plan.

I personally like Max. I was joking around because of all the drama he is still causing. Sorry I forgot to use smilies.

Max had a bad attitude and didn't put fourth a strong enough effort in his final years here in Buffalo.

The proof is in his on ice product.

Lindy got on every single players' case in the locker room, and guys could take it like men and respond.

Max was the only one.

Max's problems didn't stem from being benched, or playing on the 4th line.

Being bench and playing on the fourth line were the products of Max's attitude and effort problems.

I dare you to watch one complete Thrashers game and try to tell me that he skated that hard in Buffalo the past 2 years.

I DARE YOU!
