Kane and Toews will probably get 6 mil each and Keith will probably get Hossa contract. I think its safe to say Cam Barker will be gone next year.

Plus, only 6 million a year? They could both easily make more on the open market.

There are going to have to be some very good players dealt to accommodate them if they sign for that much.

They're very good; but are either great? Makes the Campbell and Huet signings look even worse than when they were first signed....

Why is safe to say Barker will be gone. Because he makes a shade over 3 mill. They have a glut of RW's than have the same price tag as Barker. I'd say if anyone is a lock for being traded its Patrick Sharp. getting rid of him will shed almost 4 mill and will bring in a good return.

Barker and Sopel are likely gone.

The Hawks would love to move Huet and maybe Campbell.

Up front, I think Byfuglien & Sharp or Versteeg will likely get shopped.

I will laugh my ass off if Campbell gets traded. He can take his "I wanted a long term deal" bullshit and shove it up his ass. And he hopes that he won't get booed when he comes back to HSBC?

True but everytime I read about the Hawks trying to resign Kane Keith and Toews someone always says Barker will be gone.

It will be very hard to move Campbell because he has a no trade/movemet clause, I'd doubt Byfulglien will be shopped but I can see Sharp and Versteeg. Dave Bolland and Troy Brouwer might be also shopped around.

Oh Brian does have a no trade? Forgot about that...I don't know how they will be able to keep all 3 of those players and stay under the salary cap.

If they do sign all of Kane Keith ansd Toews they will jave $61million salary cap for next year. They also have some pretty good other RFA's like Ladd, Eager and Hjalmarsson.

This one's on Tallon. The Campbell and Huet contracts, coupled with the RFA snafu - Barker and Versteeg eliminated any cap room the club would have to add these players without having to move assets.

This is not hindsight either, as these moves/gaffes were questionable (and questioned on these boards) from the get go.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_d ... nhl,176343

Quote:
Chicago insiders say it wasn't GM Dale Tallon's fault that qualifying offers to the club's restricted free agents got bungled, leaving the likes of Kris Versteeg (a former Bruins draft pick) and Cam Barker potential unrestricted free agents (pending a grievance filed by the Players Association). The offers, though mailed on time, didn't reach all recipients by the June 30 deadline. Why? According to one source who has regular dealings with the Chicago front office, club president John McDonough had a hand in delaying the mailing of the offers. Meanwhile, Tallon offered himself up for the blame.

There are also rumors out there that Tallon didn't want to sign Campbell or Hossa, but those deals were sort of forced on him from above.

Plus, on most clubs, it is the Assistant GM that handles the RFA qualifying offers.

That would have been Stan Bowman at the time of the snafu.......

hmm who would want campbell. i doubt hossa would want out. campbell might not want out. unless kane, toews, and keith are willing to take major cuts i don't see chicago re-signing them all. your looking at a GM who is going to have to basically be a seller, at the end of this season. If the young goalies can step up he might be able to move huet to a team like LA looking for that added umph to get them into the playoffs. but there will be trades a foot and hopefully buffalo doesn't sit on their hands with possible talent on the move.

They better not sit on their hands. I would love to see Sharp and or Versteeg on the Sabres.

While watching the Calgary and Hawks game Bob MacKenzie said all three deals are done but they need fine tuning Keith's 13 year contract. Now I am quoting MacKenzie and he said both Towes and Kane will get a little more than 6 mil per year and Keith will get under 5 mil per year. Bob also said they don't have to subtract guys until the end of the year, they are going to be busy in the summer
