Think we'd be seeing the same results if we had Grier putting those cocky sons of bitches tails between their legs during these games?

I don't. ;)

His groin needs to get over itself so we can see him back in the lineup. I miss him. :(

He is a big reason why they continued to play the same way, without him saying believe, they go being all fancy and shit.

Maybe not the same score, but the same outcome. Grier can't play all 6 of the top forwards positions, so yay, its fair to say the same result. Him in the lineup though would be a good thing.

I disagree. They've gotten away from what they've been successful with, and the one man who's kept them playing by those guidelines is out of the lineup, and we suddenly start to tank.

We don't need him to play the top 6 positions, and that's clearly not the point I was making.

The point is, Connolly and Roy wouldn't be getting cute with the puck if Grier were on the bench cussing them out about it.

I believe it also, my post above this one says he would keep them in check and they wouldn't be fancy and shit.

Question! If Mike Grier is so important to this Sabres side (which we all know he is) why dont Management sign him long term?

answer: a grier type player isnt a rarity, just no one fitting that mold has seen buffalo ice since grier departed. plus hes older.

Since we haven't been able to find a player to fit that mould doesn't it prove that he is a rarity?

I don't think he wanted a long term contract, he will most likely only sign 1 year deals from now on until the end of his career.

Let's just make a bunch of clones of Miller and Grier.

Beginning of year- Grier plays, Sabres play great...
Grier get's injured- Grier sits, Sabres plays like shit...
Last week and a half- Grier plays, Sabres play great...

Im no rocket scientist, but Im pretty sure Greir is a big part of this teams success..

Possibly the most truthful post on this forums since inception :D

Grier makes them stick to the plan.

All of last year, I was calling for a veteran forward. I remember at the trade deadline Darcy saying something along the lines of, "Why would we want an old guy when we could have a young guy with talent and speed like Dominic Moore?"

With Grier in the line up, I think he has his answer.

OFFENSIVE LEADERSHIP! This team didn't have it before, but they have it now.

I saw a stat without Grier we were 2-3, since his return we have been 4-1.

Oh here it is, right on the preview of the Sabres/Rags game

Sabres right wing Mike Grier has four points in five games since returning from an upper-leg injury. More importantly, they are 4-1 since his return after going 2-3 without him.
