Bambi's mom has been a bit too promiscuous this year as usual.

I'd rather have venison in my freezer than on my windshield :)

One of four that made it into the homeboy freezer.

Our deer season runs from September 1 through December 20th, and we are allowed one buck and four does'. I am also allowed four antelope and two elk a year! Plus the birds of course, which is why I have two freezers and rarely eat beef or chicken, while eating red meat or birds twice a day.

The only meat item I buy at the store is chicken wings!! ;)

My uncles and cousins are out in full force hunting on the family property. Not my father and brothers so much, but nevertheless, I'm counting on having some venison due to the, uh, graciousness of relatives. :D

Venison jerky... Ohhhh man. Heavenly. My grandfather always made the very best. Should've thought to get the exact technique from him before he died, but I was eleven. I've not since had any two-thirds as good... Mmmm delicious. Used to eat that stuff all the time whenever my parents dropped me off at their house for a few days when I was a kid.

Venison stew is great, too. My mother used to make it every year with the deer my father would get. I'm pretty sure I was six the last time she made it  , but I remember just how it tastes. I should have her make it again, rather than roasts and all that jazz (which are still delicious, but sometimes they're a little tough just because of how venison is).

Venison is awesome when it's cooked right. We do stroganoff out of it all the time. Also, if you have roast, put in a crock pot with a full jar of pepperchini's. Serve it on good rolls with cheddar cheez. To die for.

Mr. Schony got this one, last weekend. An arrow through the face of a 10 pointer :o

are they still doing chronic wasting disease sampling out there? we're wrapping up our last year of sampling here in NY, since the two confirmed cases in the mid-90's.

those things unleashed could kill a small child!

and to xcheck, who said its better to have venison in freezer, then on the windshield... a police officer said there are two types of drivers in michigan: those who have hit deer, and those who will.
