Like I said before, same year same shit oh well the TDL will come and Darcy will do.....nothing. Despite the hot start (like last year) this team is not a 1st place team + we are easy to beat NO Miller ~> no confidence.

If Miller, TV or Connolly are staying healthy we're PO contenders thats all. Hockey is based around teambulding you fucking can't always hoping on the 3 mentioned guys. We still have Pommers and Roy (stop your stupid diving shit!).

Do they play different in front of Lalime than Miller, or does Miller just make a lot of great saves each game that other goalies would let in??

I think Miller makes our defense overrated every year..

Miller also plays the team's system much better than Lalime. Telqvist did too.

How does a goalie play a system?

I think Telly dealt better with the long time between starts than Lalime does.

That is a much needed skill for a guy that is going to be a #2 as opposed to a #1 or a #1a/b.

Rebound control is an essential goaltending skill and not "playing a system".

Trust me, Lalime isn't choosing to kick out big, fat, juicy rebounds.

They have to play always the way they're playing when Miller is in net, otherwise it doesn't matter which backup we get...

Um. Based on his actions this season and past offseason, I would not say that even if I were waterboarded.

Great, now y'all brought up Tellqvist. I had such high hopes that they'd somehow keep him. He was so good at performing well after a cold start. I hope he's doing well in Russia.

I would love to have Tellqvist and his silly scarves back.

Tellqvist won 3 games for us last year and lost only two or something. But I knew we'd not keep him and I felt better with him in goal than Lalime.

Oh please, does this thread need to be bumped every time we lose.. You know our team is going to lose at least 20 this season more games like every other team in the NHL..

Honestly. I'm going to start a thread titled, "Sabres '09-'10 Stanley Cup Champs!!!" and bump it every time we win. How about that?

this team is still pretty much all miller...with out him, we would be in the bottom 3rd of the league and out of the playoffs....this team is going nowhere in the post season unless darcy acquires some more goal scorers

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

Without Miller, this team would falter.

That said, Miller isn't the only reason this team has been successful.

This.

He is for sure the backbone of the team. But we do have talent.

Now, EFFORT is the reason why we lose a good amount of the games we lose.

The Sabres have lost two of the past three. This makes them one of the coldest teams in all of hockey, and signals a free fall into the conference basement and the inevitable relocation of the franchise to Kansas City.
