When the list of letters is formed, we can rearrange them to lyrics from a 1984 song by The Smiths.

Interesting Phil. It is called How Soon Is Now? by The Smiths, but it's also sung by Morrissey (lead singer for the Smiths) and is called - I Am The Sun, I Am The Air. Maybe there is a variation in the lyrics, I never checked. Nonetheless, CV is busted big time He knew it when I posted last and said "You didn't go about it the wrong way". Those are more lyrics from the same song.

I Schoneygal co-accuse CriminallyVulgar as being The Assassin for the reasons stated by S2S and I above.

After I got the band name, I wanted to make the connection out of curiousity myself. I just googled STAR TREK SMITH http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Sandra_Smith

ah if it is alex, im gonna beat him up! hahaha a long time ago i asked him straight up, are you the assassin? and he denied it and all. All this time I've suspected him and Jael though, because they are both similar in their writing style, and their style was most similar to the Assassins. im interested to see if it is him.


well congrats guys, i just received confirmation by text. it was indeed alex. Gotta give him a round of applause though. he really did stump the hell out of all of us for awhile.

I actually have looked up the lyrics to the song he got his username from before, and he posted something in some post that really reminded me of them, so I Googled it along with "shyness that is criminally vulgar" or something like that, to see if they were from that song. They weren't, but the fact that they reminded me of something that specific was really intriguing to me. The last few days I was mostly suspecting him, after thinking it was somebody else for a while, because I just kept coming back to that.

First I thought it was either him or Phil due to the vocabulary used in a few posts, then just him based on that one tidbit, then bounced around thinking it could be someone else and suspecting two others, one of whom actually isn't all that active here, then back to him.

Posting in this thread as yourself, helping people with clues as if you also have no idea who the assassin is, has to be hilarious.

I was thinking about that Knowing me, I would not be able to solve my clues; totally forgetting it was me who made them up in the first place.

Alex, no one ever figured out your first numeric identity clue. The one you later added the (L)-D-(L)[Y] to or the one where you said to read what you wrote carefully when you talked about the old boards being a ghost town.

The thing that had me the most stumped in the long list of numbers and subsequently names, was when I got to the part that says: M M N N N N, I kept getting M M N N O N because I was spelling Connolly wrong PSP is going to kill me Once S2S told me I spelled it wrong, I just began fitting all the letters into 14 words to solve the 2nd part of your puzzle. It was narrowed down quite nicely by having a "V" to work with. The Criminally fit into the 10 character spot and the Vulgar followed with 6 letters.

That was a blast. Nicely done.

If I still had a tape cassette player, I'd be listening to that song now
